It so upsetting to hear this news. They are literally performing a Righteous Brother song. I know there is more to the lawsuit but at the very least John should be able to perform songs solo and Daryl should be able to get financial credit. Hard to choose sides.
@relaxingandsoothing4374 Жыл бұрын
I hear that. Can you imagine they work things out and perform this song and She's Gone live? Of course there are many other hits. Push every disagreement aside, clean slate.
@cindymorin6449 Жыл бұрын
@@SnowDog0 The song part is not in the lawsuit. It's part of the restraining order that came from the judge after Hall filed his claim. John tried selling his share of their joint venture to a 3rd party. So, because of that, both of them had to sit down with an arbitrator to agree on which songs each one can or can't sing on his own. Due to the lawsuit and royalties that come from their songs, until it's settled, there's a freeze on some of the songs and everything else that involved the Hall & Oats logo. I don't think they'll ever come back together because they haven't been in years. Plus, believe it or not, they were never friends. They were/are business partners and nothing more. Hall even said that they hardly do anything outside of business and only come together when they go on stage.
@cindymorin6449 Жыл бұрын
I seriously doubt they'll ever will be friends because they never were nor do I see them singing together ever again. Hall said that all they ever did was share a stage. They never did much of anything together on a personal level. It was all business with them. In Hall's eyes, according to the lawsuit, John went behind his back and tried to sell off his share of their joint venture business which he cannot do as per the contract they have with each other in regards to this. It's sad...Hall feels betrayed as a business partner of over 50 years together. It doesn't look good for John who's claiming he didn't do anything wrong. Let's see what happens. There's obviously enough evidence there since a judge approved a restraining order which makes it impossible for either one to sell or really do anything at this point that involves around their music until this is completely settled. It'll soon come to light and if what Darryl is accusing John of doing is true, then I'll have no respect left for John for doing this after being together for over 59 years!

When I was a little kid my Mom took me to see a Hall & Oats concert in Charlotte, NC. I don't recall what year that was, but it had to be in the early to mid 80s and that means I couldn't have been any more than 10 years old at the time. My sister and her best friend (who were both about 5 years older than me) went with us. Survivor was the opening act that night, and my sister's friend was a cousin to the drummer for Survivor. They got to go back stage after the concert was over so my sister and her friend could hang out with the friend's cousin and Survivor. Those were some good times! I would gladly trade in my cell phone and every one of the more modern amenities and technologies that have come along since those times to go back to the 80s because it sucks in each and every way it could suck today. It isn't that the 80s were perfect and life was easy in those days. It is just that these days are no where near as good as they were then. Not even close.

This is my very first time listening to this group. I know I heard some of their music when I was younger. They had a lot of popular hits that I didn't even realize. Rhythm, Harmony and flow they had it.
@arkady714 Жыл бұрын
Their heyday was in the early '80s. They were known as white soul which came initially from the doo-wop music of their native Philadelphia. They had some songs that charted in the US as early as 1974 but they absolutely caught fire beginning with their 1981 album "Private Eyes." It was actually their 10th album. When their next album "H2O" was published, they found themselves selling out sports arenas. They themselves were quite shocked at their enormous success so late in their careers. It all then peaked with 1984's "Crash Boom Bang." They re-tooled their sound on a number of occasions but always kept to their soul roots.
