Well, it means that the other guys is just stronger/better, even though a prime Dave showed up. So, my question is: why can't Dave's opponents be just stronger/better than him at this point in time? Does that automatically mean that Dave is washed up? I've been watching Dave and he looks strong as ever. He is lifting heavy in the gym, he manhandles Toddzila just the same, he showed up against Devon his heaviest, so... Against Revaz, Dave seemed a bit off, I give people that, but I reckon it's because he couldn't get to the straps. Against Devon, Dave had side pressure, it's just he couldn't get past Devon. I enjoyed the match as much as i expected. I also believed, like most, that Devon would be victorious, although i anticipated to be more of a war, at least for the first two rounds. Both behaved like they always do, so no surprises there. What i don't see many people mention is that for the first time Devon was heavier, even by 2 pounds. How many people could beat Devon while being the same weight? Lets be real, if you re coming against 2023 Devon and you don't have at least 20 pounds on him, you re going to have a bad day. Devons estimate on his about 20% power level up since their previous match proved to be accurate.

I mean it was obvious if you watch the Jerry vs Genadi match, the Paul Linn vs Sasho, Devon vs Genadi match, even in the RVJ match they tried but it wouldn't have mattered anyways, and Im sure there's a lot more examples if someone went back and looked. Yea all refs make mistakes they just human and that's gonna happen. But when the ref determines the outcome of so many different matches then that's a problem and if people don't call it out then it will never be fixed. It was a mismatch, but the fact that Dave gave up mentally didn't help at all. Like zero attempt to push back. Not sure what the cause of the lack of performance is, but, it hurts the sport to play that way. Overall the event was filled with just mismatches as well, with everyone losing and getting crushing defeats. There weren't enough matches either, so everyone came out of it with a bad taste. I do recommend a Rule Change: If the match is 4:0, that's it. Game over. There's no reason to rub that in with 2 more matches, with the exception perhaps being the headliner.

It's supposed to be 4..anything after that is a window into the next match, which is giving away too much and ruins the pacing of what just happened and what's going to happen. I have to Half disagree with you AE the competition has become very competitive these last 10years with new names coming into the mix they are younger and getting stronger every time we see them and they train their Asses off. Dave has being in the Elite mix for a while now and the competition has surpassed that Level now it’s not hes fault but this is Dave’s peak. The injury’s is always a question mark but a lot of guys have injury’s but the strength is the last thing to go Dave is strong but Devon is that much stronger and he has a deep Tool belt to fight with. Dave was never that versatile he was always a horsepower guy and he was great at it but the guys at Elite level can’t be beaten by sheer horsepower you need more tools and Dave doesn’t have that. Other than you were spot on about Dave being too polite in there if this your last match with Devon after all the disrespect just bring some fire but then again Dave was never that guy he was always a show up so he’s job and leave type of guy. Looked like Dave was having more fun smiling and laughing at Devon's trolling, than he did with the actual battle he was supposedly there for. A theory that's getting stronger, it could be Dave's neck was trashed, knew he couldn't hold off Devon, so he worked hard enough to earn his keep, but in no way did he go all in it seemed obvious. An alternate conspiracy theory take... Dave paid off someone in the kitchen or server ranks to give Devon food poisoning. Thinking Devon would either back out, or come to the table a sick mess allowing Dave to easily dominate. Or, if you really want to go rabbit hole on it, Dave tried to poison Devon to death. We're going with Dave was simply hurting, but wouldn't admit it, and tried mostly not to hurt himself. Once he lost, he pulled better than he had in round 1-4, almost as if to help make it not look like he came expecting to lose like he did.
