I'm so incredibly excited to say that I snagged tickets to see you in Austin on the 26th. I've carried the trauma of this cult with me since I went to my first seminar at the age of 17, in 1981. I've lived with the pain in silence for 40 years, because I realized early on, there was absolutely no way to explain it to someone who had not experienced it. I was so excited about the SHP documentary and I begged my husband (who normally hates documentaries) to watch it with me. Much to my surprise, he watched the entire thing, and for the first time in our 36 year marriage, I think he finally gets me and why I am the way I am. I will you see you on the 26th. I can't thank you enough for doing this show. You will never know how much it means to those of us who have carried this burden for so, so, long to have the opportunity to laugh and cry together with others who have been on the same journey.

I wasn’t raised in the IBLP. I was raised Catholic and not practicing one! My family moved from California to South Carolina. Talk about a culture shock!!!! A none practicing girl dropped into the middle of the fundamentalist Baptist territory….it was a nightmare! I just can’t even imagine the life you all had to live. Much love!❤

I grew up in an IFB church but only heard of him in the 80s. I met some of the people in that group and thought they were quite odd. I even went to Christian school. Neither the school nor the church I attended ever mentioned him.
