He is very interesting. Very talented. This should be an example of how much our childhoods can fuck us up for life. This guy had a hard life and abandoned at 9. His examples were taught in institutions. I sense a lot of pain in his life. But, at the same time he has done amazing things with his life. You can't expect someone who was dumped as a kid and ended up being influenced his whole life by people in prison to think like most. He's complex and a survivor. He's talented. He's real.

From what I know, he’s also a decent person and doesn’t live like an a**hole. Sure his lyrics are racey but they’re mostly a joke and he’s actually a very tolerant person.

@@gregoryedwards8004 Yes, this is a DAC clip, I get that. What I was getting at was your claim that he ran with some Dead members; I was wondering who you were talking about. I've been a Head for 30 years and I've never once read or heard DAC & any member of the Grateful Dead mentioned in the same sentence.

@@chuckryan6065 I didn't think there where any Heads still around in their fifties who would admit they were deadheads... But in a few words, even a girl with faraway eyes was at a show with Warren Haynes and DA Coe back in the day... Now don't get me wrong I'm saying if your that old maybe its time to put down the bong... then you can take a second clear your mind and find that rare live recording in London and Ifn you have been around music along as you say you have coe has played with or had with him over the years countless numbers of musicians that dont tell people they played with him because of the way the man is Hell I had him over to our place i think three times in the last thirty years but I don't make it a point to brag... Not every one that hung out with the Travelin Wilburys was on them records but there are the few tapes out there Im guessing when my friend moves along to that great stage in the sky opps when we but him in that pine box we will see all kinds of stuff come out.... But yes DA Coe and his band have many pages in the History books Call him up and ask him He will answer the phone if your not being a jack ass

He also wrote "greener than the grass we laid on" & "stand by your man" by her also. I'm a huge DAC fan as he is my favorite writer/singer but "would you lay with me" is a direct ripoff of Townes Van Zant's "if I needed you".

When he says, " They can take that kid away from and that can hurt me." ....... that hit hard, been through that twice, yrs later and I still miss both them boys. One's all grown up and moved away from his mother. I did get one great sit down with him that helped us both. I never knew how much it had affected him as well.

Anybody that thinks being interviewed by Al Goldstein will help Launch your Career is not running on all cylinders. And DAC later came to admit it in 1986 that he himself caused his on Career Limiting Events. Having been his Truck Driver from 1986-1988 I remember seeing a Down in the Dumps DAC. I remember me last day working for him in Dallas TX 1988. Coming out of a show, to find his Bus and Semi had been Repossessed. I guess not making payments for 7-8 months, who would think they would Repo. That and going upwards of 6-9 weeks without being paid will be a good reason to leave.
