It's not a mental health problem that he is describing. It's a maturity problem. Prepare for your child to suck at things and give yourself time to teach them.

I think its fantastic that he's thinking about not putting this kind of pressure on his daughter. My mom has a ton of anxiety and she put that on us as kids and as a result we all have severe anxiety issues. My dad was quick to outbursts of anger but only sometimes and usually in response to tiny annoyances so he was extremely unpredictable and it led to us all being hyper vigilant about our surroundings. We have severe reactions to sounds. All this stuff does manifest in your children down the line. We all have a responsibility to learn more about ourselves and consider how we are affecting others. Look at how effed up most people are. We're all hurt kids in big bodies. If we start looking at the ugly stuff we can make life a little less difficult than it needs to be.

When you get the gift of being called, "An Awesome Dad"....own it, but of course without ego bro. Our job, as i did mine...is to marinate your kid(s) in LOVE for about 18-25 years and then let them out into the world to spread it. It does come back...so, look out for that gift as well, my friend. 🌱

It doesn't surprise me that he has those kind of issues. I love David Cross, one of the funniest people ever, but I've always thought that I would pass on a chance to meet him. He seems like the type of guy who would make a person regret talking to him.
