@@wesdavis8797 How did the Bowl shows compare to MSG? I thought the mirror ball effect looked better indoors at the Intuit dome, but the lasers looked better outdoors because the wind would blow the fog, creating moving patterns within the shifting beams. Something about all those lasers shooting out of the half dome is beyond cool.

I am a huge Gilmour fan, have been for over 40 years, I think his work is fantastic, but I think it somewhat is to his discredit that he doesn't 'contest' Holland's rather silly '...one of the greatest guitar players of all time...' introduction, when he clearly isn't; one of the most revered or appreciated, certainly, but greatest, defiitely not. Brian May also does this. On the other hand, Hendrix and Beck both tended to show awkwardness when receiving such sensationalist accolades, showing a modesty which I felt had an endearing quality. But of course, Holland has this wondeful showbiz bounciness, and maybe I am a miserable old git.
@BF-up5xw13 күн бұрын
While I see your point, I think it is just a strategy that May and Gilmour have adopted. They hear that said to them a lot and have just reached a stage of deciding to let it pass in silence. But maybe I'm being over-generous! I do remember on some other Jools Holland show, with BB King and Gilmour and Jools asked Gilmour what he was going to be doing next. Gilmour replied 'Keep practicing until I'm as good as BB.' - which I took to be in the spirit of 'Keep practicing forever'.
