If you’ve never heard of David Goggins, just picture if a superhero story came to real life. After a devastating childhood that left him broken and lacking ambition, everything changed. He set his sights on becoming a Navy SEAL, and in the process became the only individual in U.S. military history to go through Air Force Tactical Air Control Party Training, Army Ranger school and three “Hell Weeks.” He not only accomplished his goal of becoming a Navy SEAL, but then went on to earn a reputation as one of the world’s premier endurance athletes.
I was extremely proud to introduce David and his incredible life story to our audience at the 2017 Success Summit. Now, as his new book “Can’t Hurt Me” continues to dominate the Amazon Charts, he joined me again for this fascinated interview.

You can tell he was just extremely excited to be talking to Goggins. But yeah when you hear Goggins best interviews it’s 90% of the time the interviewer just sitting back and thinking wholly f* is this for real and letting Goggins speak to the masses.

I'm working out yesterday, while listening to the "Can't Hurt Me" audiobook. I say I'm gonna do 500 pushups before I go to work. At 200 I'm thinking, "shit. maybe 500 was too much. you just did 200. That's great." I go to stand up, right as David Goggins says "you don't quit when you're tired. You quit when its done" .... By the end of the chapter, I collapsed at 527. And still had an hour and a half to rest before work. Thank you Goggins.

I have tried everything and always given up - so after watching a copious amount of videos with David(firstly on the amazing Tom Bilyeu show). I have started today and he says you have to experience the pain to achieve - he's right it's so easy to quit and give up. I now understand how it works and I have been a victim of circumstances- Love the book- God bless this man xx

I love David Goggins ❤❤❤. I am making a real change with myself after coming across him on youtube. Life keeps throwing challenges and pain over and over and over again. When you think you have it good, that's when the cascade of problems that are on foreseen come your way to test you. As David Goggins says, pain brings out the best of you because it's the only way out.

1) For all the discomfort that Goggins has faced in his life; I strongly doubt this bothered him. 2) if it DID bother him, do you really think that Goggins, one of the most blunt and direct people on this planet, would have let it keep happening without saying something? not everyone gets all homophobe, germophobe, whatever the case may be.

I think you misinterpreted what he was saying when he was explaining his self talk when he used the 150 mile point. He is not tellling himself or comparing how easy this is to his past training, hes reminding himself of all the blood sweat and tears he put himself through to get tot his moment. He is reminding himself of the pain he went through in order to accompish something important to him. He's reminding himself that, if he were to quit in that moment, all that pain and suffering will be for nothing. And that is regret.

This is insane! I literally just started a new job selling because I’m super antisocial but I had that talk with my self a while back and I started to control the things I can control and think and my life is slowly falling into place. My biggest goal for this year was to work from home, but I knew that I’d have to start talking to a lot of people constantly, and just as I’m struggling to get more clients because I’m literally terrified of calling and talking to people I stumble upon this video and the host who’ve I’ve never seen in my life (no offense) literally calls out for advice regarding one of my biggest fears, if not the biggest one. I had heard of David Goggins before and I had seen some of his motivational videos and thought he was such a fucking badass, but I never thought that that’s what his book would be about. I mean I kind of did because now that I’m in this different place you really understand that to go through such a radical change you must experience an enormous amount of pain, but I didn’t think it would feel so close to home. Obviously not the same struggles, but the same conversations with myself and the same voices and the same feelings and thoughts etc. I was looking for something; some kind of sign or direction and I found it. Thank you very much you just gave me the talk and insight I needed. Definitely adding David’s book to my list of books I want to read for the year, and you sir have another subscriber.

Great interview - got the audiobook via Audible. @Tom - consider investing in a Blue Yeti Pro microphone. Single mic, has an interview bi-directional mode (so two people can talk into one mic). Much higher audio quality than the mics you're currently using and you won't have the audio balance issues that this video introduces. Kind of obvious that they're cutting the audio of your mic when David speaks then turning it back on every time you speak. My suggestion should provide a good solution. Keep up the great content!

It's OK to be afraid or be a "candy ass" (according to Tom) in sales or life, it really is OK; just don't let that feeling make you quit all together or discourage you to the point of thinking you wont be good enough later on. Empathetic and Incremental desensitization to what your afraid of is the name of the game, its what learning is all about - Goggins knows and alludes to this. Awesome insight; make it work for you, I appreciate Tom's platform and Goggins willingness to share.

Y'all are sensitive as fuck. If David would read these comments he would be laughing at all'o'ya. What are you wining about?.. some interviews look the same.. some don't .. he didn't seem disturbed or upset, did he? trust me, when he goes on someone's podcast, I'm sure he's already aware of where he's at, cause we all know he ain't inclined to doing interviews at all. This guy here, granted, is very enthusiastic about David and his story, he's so engaged, really knows all the background, and handles it more like a talk than an interview. It's REFRESHING. As someone who saw all of Goggins' interviews out there, he managed to bring a different light and touch on some new subjects. Y'all need to reframe your minds.. this is such negativity and judgmental mindset going on here, which is so ironic cause David's message is always sayin' the exact opposite.
