Watching this reaction once again. My parents just celebrated their 70th anniversary on May 1st. Dad has slowly getting more and more forgetful. His memory is slipping. Mom is sharp as a whip. It’s so amazing watching them and how they’ve stood besides each for 7 decades. Incredible.

I got to be with both of my parents as they slowly left this world before going on into their Eternal Home. It's such a blessing to be with them during that time..

David wrote the music, lyrics and arrangement. The video used his home that he shares with his family. David is such a phenomena!

Me too Brother. Makes me think of my grandmother. I would visit her and sing to her. She would turn to my mom and say, that sounds just like Tony. Still breaks my heart now and I’m a grandpa. I can’t wait to see her when Jesus comes again.

That was David’s home he shares with his family. I think he should have been recognized for his contributions to bringing this terrible disease to awareness.

My feelings exactly. He should have been nominated for some award. This song was phenomenal.

Having worked with the elderly for many years, I saw a lot of that ugly disease. It left a raw wound in many a heart of a loved one. It was part of my privilege to help them through that hard time of slowly letting go. I had one miracle patient, who just two weeks before his death had a severe stroke. The stroke should have taken him home, yet for some reason known only to God it didn't. It cleared his mind for long enough for the family to gather and say goodbye one last time to the father and grandfather they knew and loved before he slipped behind the confusion once more. Another stroke took him home quickly and quietly. I'd never thought of a stroke as a blessing before that. It proved to me beyond a shadow of a doubt that God can use ALL things for good. This song was magic, and David's voice as usual was perfect for it. WOW!

That was exactly my reaction when I first heard this song a year and a half ago. I had to stop it, and start, stop, start, because my eyes were flowing over. I am 66 Dennis, I am still looking for 'that' love' too. My parents were happily married for 73 years, and my BFF, my dad passed 1/24/2012, my mom followed him 11/24/2012. I took care of them the last 5 years, helped them with with meals, shopping, doctor's appointments. It was the biggest blessing of my life. WHAT a song, WHAT a message, and WHAT a love story. No one tells life's stories like David Big hugs!

David made a video of people sharing the “Hello Beautiful” moments they had with their loved ones who had dementia or Alzheimer’s. Yours would fit right in. I guess the Lord knew you needed this now. I saw a t-shirt that said “David Phelps is my therapist.” It’s true in a way, but we know really it’s the Holy Spirit.

Love your reaction. Most of his new music has a completely different feel and sound than his older music. It's his "stylizing". I agree with several others here that you absolutely should react to "Song for Sinners" and "Fly Again". Blessings to you Dennis.

I feel your pain and your loss. I have gone thru many many family members that have gone thru this. I believe that this song is a wake up call for the public. I hear that we are close so close in having a I guess you would call it a "FIX" So much more with diagnosing these mental issues. It is a horrible illness to have and in David's storytelling you wait for that brief moment of clarity and it is God's way of telling you that they are still there. God treats each of these illnesses with a message, but you just have to find it. I wish that this song as having the ups and downs of it that he would have gotten so much more recognition publicity for it. David belongs on the Hollywood or CMT Awards singing this song. Just as much as Carrie Underwood or John Legend does. It's truly amazing. You said it best about if you are the one to have that fairytale life you were blessed. I'm truly sorry that you had that happen to you to. We need to fund the mental illnesses and find a cure for so many. God Bless you and have an awesome day. p.s. Glad you played it. Thank you.

The first time I heard this song, it tore me up inside at the same part of the song where it hit you. My grandmother had Alzheimer's for nearly 13 years before it took her life. My grandfather took great loving care of her through it all. It was so sad to watch her deteriorate over the years. I lost a huge part of heart when she passed. My grandfather could finally rest and passed a few months after her. He told us he actually saw her lying in bed next to him the night he passed away. I will see them again, I have great comfort in that, thank you Jesus!!!

Thanks Dennis for sharing! What emotions! I discover this artist (he is not well known in France and it's a shame) and I'm going to deepen my discovery, this song is very beautiful and moreover I've been in it for 3 years with my husband's illness, I have anxieties for the future but when I see all these testimonies, I tell myself that God has his reasons and I will find the meaning in all this terrible ordeal......

I saw another reactor play this song and every time I see it I have the same reaction as you. So sorry for the loss of your father but you can take comfort in the fact that you care for him. Game Changer album is definitely different from what we are used to hearing from David but all songs written by him are beautiful. Others have mentioned some songs, I would like for you to react to "Song for Sinners", The vocals in this are absolutely stunning. Thank you so much for your reactions to David, keep them coming 🙏🏼😊

With working with the elderly for about 10 years now I have seen the ugliness of the disease and what it does to the people and it's heartbreaking but I have had moments where they have a realization there almost towards the end and it's sad but heartwarming to see them with family and friends in that time... Gob Bless you for reacting to this video it is beautiful and it touches my heart to see how many people have gone through this too...

In David's follow-up video where we tell our stories I Also tell and share about my husband's battle with early onset Alzheimer's. In his Game changer concerts they would play this video as he sang live. It hits just as hard in person. So many of us have had family members affected and we can relate to this video on such a personal level.....just as you can. Thank you for sharing your story too.
