My favorite Pokemon used to be Alakazam, because I've always been fond of fragile, high-damage, high-speed characters, but more recently I've gone the other way and now I think my favorite is probably Snorlax. It's slow as hell, but it's other stats are great, and it's bulk makes it really easy to set up for long-term plays. Plus it's huge move pool makes give it the element of surprise, and you can catch your opponent off guard really easily with random type coverage and utility moves they wouldn't normally account for. But the real reason it's my favorite is because back in the X/Y days, my sister and I would battle, and she would often beat me with her Mega-Gardevoir. So, I decided to change up my team by adding a Snorlax (it's insanely high SP. Def hard countered Gardevoir's moves) that knew Toxic and Rest. I never lost to her Gardevoir again. Yes, I am a scumbag, thanks for asking.

Sad story: when I was a wee lad, I encountered a shiny zigzagoon in the wild in Ruby. But I was but a child, before the age of easily accessible internet, and did not know of "shy-knees", and the color palette wasn't that different, so I had no idea what it was, and treated it like any other random encounter :'( I did catch a shiny tentacool later though, because its red parts become green so even a doofus like myself could see that it was different somehow.

Thanks mate! And on Steelix, I have to say it's greatest travesty was it's gen 6 model. I loved seeing it rotate and spin in the air but Gen 6 made it's model look like a derpy steel snake that's trying really hard to stand up in the most uncomfortable way possible. Pre Gen 6, 8/10. Gen 6 and after, 4/10.

Favorite mon is Dustox. It is a very good moff, top quality, and the real reason I like it is that one of them single handedly saved the wildest nuzlocke run I've ever done. T'was of Blaze Black, a difficulty hack of Black, and Valna the Dustox carried the damn team on multiple occasions. What a hero.

Dustox is fucking great. Hugely underrated but I love him, especially since Wurmple was my first shiny and I was super ecstatic to find out if I was going to get a shiny Beautifly or Dustox. Although I did get Beautifly, the fact that shiny Dustox is literally just pepperoni pizza is so good. 9/10 And on the Nuzlocke point I had that happen twice with Togekiss. It went from a Pokemon I liked to my favorite Pokemon because it carried an entire run on it's back (was one of two Pokemon remaining ~5 gyms in a randomizer Nuzlocke, and single handedly got me to the end where I had multiple pseudo-legendaries and fantastic Pokemon) and then the literal next Nuzlocke it was my first route Pokemon. I knew from that point on it was meant to be.

For my favorite Pokemon, it depends whether glitch pokemon are allowed. If so: Then MissingNo., just cause I love learning about the inner workings of the early Pokemon games and how the game actually goes through the process of *creating* the pokemon right then and there, from a technical level, because it's not *planned* or *intended*, it just IS. I love it. If glitch Pokemon aren't allowed, then I'd have to go with Rattata, because due to a dumb mistake as a kid, I released my starter and went on to make it through the rest of the game with Chip as my de facto starter. I also think toxic and confuse ray does not make a true pacifist run so I agree that the way you went for it beats the other. I was planning beating X-Y as I want the 1/8 instead of 1/16 from Iron Thornes /Rough Skin and if I can somehow just beat the first gym leader, Budew, Nidoran f and m and soon Hippotas and Ferroseed will be available. Sigilyph is honestly way too underrated, I understand why it doesn't appeal to people but honestly I love using it. Especially because of how much stupid builds you can give it in competitive, it can be completely memed to death. Flygon is strange. Honestly I've always preferred Vibrava and especially Trapinch, but I dig it. Can never decide between two pokemon, both the peliper line and Primaria, the two have always been my favorite since my first playthrough of Moon, which even though is probably the least favorite of most, it is my favorite. Braviary is my favourite pokemon. White 2 was my first pokemon game and that defiant braviary carried my team and its ability was awesome. I still have him almost 9 years later. I got white 2 for my 12th birthday in 2012 and I caught braviary either on Christmas or the day after. I don't think you should have put Gengar on the list of "Pokemon unusable before the physical/special split" at 0:14. It's in OU in every generation before Gen VII, and it's one of the defining Pokemon of both ADV (and I wanna say GSC?), IIRC. You can check both the Smogon viability rankings and some of BKC's videos (he has an hour long one about why Gengar was good in ADV) for more information.

Gyarados, meanwhile, is a pretty godlike Pokemon for Nuzlockes. It's one of the best Nuzlocke pivots in the game in Gen 3 due to its quad weakness to Electric, immunity to Ground, and guaranteed access to Intimidate (and generally solid stats).

My favorite pokemon is Crawdaunt. No real reason, I just think hes cool, and come on hes a giant crawdad that beats things to death with his big meaty claws. Absolutely based taste in liking Zigzagoon btw. Gen 3 probably best gen overall

Crawdaunt is honestly so good, and although I never really used a lot of dark types in Gen 3 (because a lot of them were physical and that's really bad) I was always down to make a slot for Crawdaunt just because I loved using him so much. Also in competitive, adaptability is a complete fucker ability and I love him.

Nincada's entire evolution line is 10/10. Ninjask and Shedinja are two of my favorite Pokemon, so from a more unbiased standpoint it's probably my favorite evolutionary line. Corsola though, it's pretty good. I think the Galarian form gave me more appreciation for it, although I honestly wish Corsola was a Pokemon that you could get in more colors. It'd make sense and it's a neat concept, especially since Game Freak has been doing that more and more and put attention on ghost coral.

It was definitely more useful, the only issue was PP. 10 PP wasn't a whole lot for prolonged fights so it was better overall to just use healing items

Unfortunately it was only introduced in Gen 4, and it doesn't help that it would be so difficult to get that it wouldn't even be worth getting. Not being able to use Thief or any physical moves means that you'd just have to catch wild Cacnea repeatedly until you hopefully get one with a Sticky Barb, unironically I'm pretty sure it'd take hours without constant Soft Resetting

I love Leafeons design, I wish it was a bit more competitively useful and more readily available in more Pokemon games (some games you have to get REALLY into the late game), but I love it honestly. Still wish we got more Eeveelutions and not just Eevee.

Sorry for necro, and I am honestly wondering (because I am about to try this), how did you get through first rival battle? I cant see a pacifist way of doing it, qnd pokeballs and progress is locked until You win.

Just skip over it, most games have an unavoidable encounter before you get anything and most challenge runs account for this by "starting" past that point and when you get Pokeballs, can trade, can buy items, etc.
