@@ZPSBestProfileName that's true, mostly due to structural misogyny though, it's been teaching our children, girls and boys, that a man MUST behave a certain way. You have no idea how nice it is during this rough and chaotic time to just sit back and remember the more innocent and easier times of our lives, once more living them through your gaming. You might not know it but you really do create a positive experience for many of us....something sorely needed in these crazy times we live in.

I really like that you have framed some of the art you have, which is great not just for looking at but also protecting it for the long term. That really was a great idea! That space is really coming together. Do you have any additional lighting you have put in beyond the shelving? Id bet it looks great in there with the LED lights on and the main overhead light off. What is the next thing you'd like to do to this space? These game room updates are fun as hell, Thanks David!

I love how you take the time to discuss why these pieces are special to you. Your thoughts on strategy guides resonates with me as well. When I was around 6 years old, my grandpa brought me to GameStop- usually it was to get a Mario or Pokémon title. I saw Wild Arms sitting on the shelf and was drawn to it for some reason. As we were checking out, the cashier offered the guidebook to us for only a penny. Decades later and I still find myself flipping through that strategy guide. I wonder if I’d have ever got into JRPGs had it not been for that trip!

This was a great little tour, David! You've got some great pieces hanging up, and I'm especially jelly over those framed Okami covers. 'Tis such a beautiful game. That desk is also quite nice, with the shelving underneath to keep your consoles nice and tidy, and one can never have too much desk space. Just might have to get together with my Dad and draw up plans for something similar, as I love displaying my consoles but I really just don't have much space left in my set-up, with the 50-inch flat panel and 27-inch CRT, an original Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox Series X, and Wii all spread out across a rounded off piece of plywood. Not to mention my two other smaller CRTs, another Xbox 360, Xbox One S, and GameCube on display in a metal shelving unit right next to my main gaming station. Nonetheless, your game room is coming together rather nicely, I would say. Lookin' forward to future updates, and do pass on my compliments to Ken on the construction of your new desk.

When I was a kid I loved Calvin and Hobbes, still do. It was the only non-manga comic that I read. Most regular "comics" seemed childish to me, I prefered the more teen oriented drama of mangas. But Calvin and Hobbes was an exception and I have probably 4 big compilation books of Calvin and Hobbes comics. I also love strategy guides, with all the great art and details of the games. I remember when you could get them for like 15 dollars each, I had Golden Sun and Final Fantasy X guides, but then they started charging more and more for them and I was a kid on a budget. But the most recent guide I bought in today's era is the guide for The Witcher 3, it's a huge book and it's really great.

I’ve got 1 recommendation for ya, Davey: Product display racks, specifically perfume/nail polish sized. The kind that incrementally rise like a staircase. I use them to display my favourite cartridges, especially the tiny GameBoy games that don’t like to cooperate with most conventional display positions. I had to find a “display” specialist store however. Maybe you can get a taller little set meant for cards.

If you do nothing but the main story you'll almost be fooled into thinking it's a single player game. Obviously there's online aspects to it that can't be ignored, but it's absolutely a true Final Fantasy game. The base game and first expansion, Heavensward are in the free trial, so it wouldn't cost you anything but time. Would be great to see you give it a chance someday. =D
