Jumpstart your 2023 New Year Resolutions with this easy 10 minute walking workout - Day 1 of our 7 Day Get Stronger in 10 Minutes Challenge! It will burn calories, get your heart rate up, improve your coordination and balance, and increase your endurance. Plus you’ll get about 1200 steps in, more or less depending on your pace. This workout can be done in a chair or standing.
This workout has 5 exercises each done twice in 30 second intervals. Go at your own pace and increase when you feel stronger.

150 minutes of moderate cardio work and 2 strength training sessions a week are recommended for optimal health. If you’re just starting out, don’t worry about hitting these numbers right now. It’s most important that you do any amount of movement and build up from there. We know you can do it and are here to help you!

At 82 years old i have emigrated to a new country snd on my first day here i did 10 minute work out. It is like i have brought 2 friends from my home country as i used to follow you there. Thank you for keeping me company.

My wife started doing these exercises without telling me. When I noticed them, I decided to jump in while she was doing one, and props. I realize my hips are the weakest so I have been having hip pain during the exercises, but not afterwards, like once my hips relax they are fine. I am very glad your channel exists, i am obese and being able to do chair exercises as well as standing up and being mobile gives me hope 🙂. Going to continue with the exercises!

I am a senior (65), and I have been recovering from/coping with Guillain-Barre syndrome for 2 & 1/2 years, it has left me with nerve damage primarily in my feet and lower legs. Additionally a result of GBS is Chronic Fatigue syndrome. I know when I exercise that I feel better, even if I don't think I have the energy for it. Before my illness I was very active, walking a couple miles daily, longer hikes on weekends, kayaking several times a week, yoga daily. I have been doing your workouts for 3 weeks now and started with just 10 minutes a day, slowly adding more each week. Now most days I can do 3 sessions of 10-20 minutes each, spread through out the day. It is helping with my energy level tremendously! I really appreciate the pace and I'm feeling accomplished and stronger all the time. I enjoy both of your personalities and demeanor. I never feel rushed or intimidated. Thank you!

It took me 14 days to go through this series the first time but I can tell a big difference starting the program over. More strength, coordination, and endurance this time around. I remember I had to sit down for the last third of the first routine when I did it the first time. No sit downs and no holding on for the balance exercises this time around. I am almost 73 and really needed to get back to exercising regularly. So glad to have found April and Aiko!

I’m 55 and not as supple or fit as I was 30 years ago. Just discovered your channel and I love it. Just done these exercises, even though they were simple I felt my heart rate increased and I got warm. Thank you 🙏. Hopefully with diet and exercise I can improve my type 2 diabetes.

Your walking exercises are so good! I love that you have your Mom there. She's adorable! I was dumb and paid for another walking course. It wasn't geared to seniors and the app drained my cell battery. It wasn't on KZbin so had to try and exercise on my tiny cell phone screen. Disaster! It took me 10 emails to get out of the program and still had to pay $25 for the first month! I ordered myself a $6 step counter and found y'all on KZbin. I can keep up with your Mom so I'm fairly certain I'm doing my body some good. I'm 72 and very sedentary(?). I'm a couch potato! But you've got me moving. I'm also trying to lose weight but want to not feel so "old". I try to do a segment with y'all 4 times a week. I just started so I'll let you know how it's going. Thank you! I lost my husband of 40 yrs 2 yrs ago new years eve. His B-day 01 19 So I just haven't found my thing other than mental Health ( I'm in grief group) But I forgot my body !!!!!! I had a heart attack 01-20- 22. I just knew I had to try something. And my husband was a big health guy. SOOOOOO I sure he will be happy. Thank you so, much it's helping alot 💜❤️

Finally!!!! After 65 years I found exercises that I really enjoy doing! You are doing such a GREAT job! No intro that takes forever and enjoyable but nevertheless effective. Did day 1 yesterday and was looking fwd to day 2. Never had this in my whole life! I’ve tried everything but I hate sports, so… But at my age I feel I’m getting aches and pains everywhere because I sit way too much. Now I found you two. Amazing! I guess I’m in between you and your mom age wise, so that is just great for me. When I prefer to sit I can. When I feel “young enough” to stand I do that. It’s not hours on end. No irritating music. Love it! So well done. And I do love the gorgeous kitty❤❤❤

I’m so glad I found you. I used to be able to exercise with Leslie Sansome, but these days she moves too fast for me, and I can’t breathe. Plus I am not real steady on my feet. I went out with my daughter the other day, and I could hardly get up from a chair and walk. I have been sitting too much at home. Your exercises suit me just fine, and I can even do a few more on some of the exercises. If you don’t mind, may I ask how old your lovely mom is in this video? I will be 73 in a month. I started feeling my age more this past year. I’ve made a promise to myself that I’m going to move everyday so I will not get decrepit. Thank you and your mom for these exercise videos.

Of course this one's a thumbs up! Fast was the driving word here for me: the moves were simple but the heart rate went up because of this. It's the perfect segue to more challenging cardio workouts for today. I intend on doing so with the upcoming 10 minute routines. In fact, I plan on doing 4 in a row and work hard at them to complete my 40 minute daily cardio exercises once you've sent us the first 4. Easy moves work for beginners but also for the more advanced. I definitely jumpstarted my new year today. Thank you April and Aiko for your pleasant chatter...Anastasia

Hello there to Aiko, Mochi and of course you, April. Happy New Year and many blessings as we progress through 2023. I was able to complete this 1st of 7 days of the 10-minute walking workouts. Buffy (my cat) enjoyed seeing Mochi (your cat) relaxing in the chair, as she was on the carpet cleaning herself. It was amazing how quickly the 10 minutes passed. I am so looking forward to the year ahead and our progress to becoming healthier together. Until then, keep up the good work.

I'm a little over a month late to start this challenge, so I doubled up today and did both the Day 1 and the Day 2 workouts. I hope to be able to do the Day 3 workout before work tomorrow -- probably unrealistic to expect to do more than that on a workday. I'm thankful that all the workouts in this year's challenge are short -- makes it more likely that I'll be able to meet the challenge.😁

I'll definitely start this tomorrow. It's challenging to do this 1 week workout challenge, just like doing coding for 1 week challenge to start tomorrow also. Need some workout before I start coding. I'm not yet senior, just in my 30's but I love your workout with your mom. I can't do workout with my mom, she had osteoarthritis and can barely walk with crutches. Arthritis runs in our blood.
