Thank you so much, Dr Ginger for this serious. I will have a lumpectomy in three days. Watching your videos helps tremendously how to prepare for it.

Thanks so much! I'm glad you are finding this helpful! Depending on the size of your lumpectomy, and it's location, you may need lymphatic/oncology PT afterwards. Also, if any nodes are taken, and even if they aren't, I do talk about (in this series) the possibility of range of motion being limited IF they lump is removed anywhere near the axillary/armpit area. Hope this helps!

@@DrGingerGarner Thank you so much. The lump is fairly large - 4.1 cm x 4 cm x 1 I think. No lymph nodes to be taken though so thats a plus! It is benign . I will definitely look into some of the things you recommend.

@@TaylorRaine Absolutely - I talk quite a bit about how to avoid post surgical complications in the video series. You may very well need to limit range of motion in the shoulder - based on the size of it. I would definitely consult with an oncology physical therapist to make sure. Oftentimes the surgeon will not give post-op precautions because they may not be aware of seroma risks. An oncology PT - even just a short consult - could help prevent issues.

@@TaylorRaine Hi, I'm having a benign lump removed in 3 weeks, same size as yours, I'm terrified How did it go fot you? I'd appreciate any info/advice

@@yuliaantonenkovolkovamd552 Hi! I remember feeling like that as well! It actually went great! The surgery was basically like nothing - I remember talking to the doctor and then I woke up in another room and had no idea that it even happened. I was a little sore for a few days but just took ibuprofen and it went away. The compression bra helps too. I don't remember any major pain, and today I honestly cant even remember what boob it was on unless I really stare at them and try to figure it out. There is no scar and no changes to their appearance. I remember being so freaked out by this entire ordeal but it turned out to be A ok and just a blip in my life story. I pray that everything goes just as easy for you.

Hi, I'm new here... Thank you for documenting and posting your experience. Did you have sentinel lymph node biopsy with your partial mastectomy? I'm having a lumpectomy+SLNB in a couple of weeks.

Wishing you healing prayers for a full recovery! I did have a biopsy done but not with this first surgery (I had 2). Everything turned out fine, ultimately - I'm very grateful for the experience and knowledge I gained to be able to turn around and help lovely people like yourself! Don't hesitate to reach out with questions!
