At the same time as teaching people to be how to be responsible hardworking people. Hard work is how you earn your strips and create value to yourself and your employer and the customer. Teaching people what it means to be a high value Trades person.

You inspired me to start taking the whole entire top off of air conditioners to really clean that thing. My company just wants us to wash it with the jacket on from the outside. Showed another tech your Chanel. Him and I are the only ones that do tune ups this way. The customers reaction every time is priceless, especially on old units when they were just expecting you to try and sell them a new one.

@8:08 Polychlorinated biphenyls(PCB) is a Group 1 Carcinigane. It's not an environmental issue. It's a human/technician safety issue. My mentor taught me long ago to be careful when working with old capacitors.

Question for ya Mike from an apprentice learning in the field, how would you go about charging a leaking ductless 410A system with no service port for liquid. The unit had no liquid service ports what so ever, so how would that work? It was a Lennox, is that typical on Lennox systems to have no ports on the inside of the condenser for high side?

Good idea to use a bucket to remove the debris from inside the unit also if you just put it on the ground next to the unit as I have seen some guys do within a day the unit will such that back into it self again not good. Thanks another great video. Also thank for continuing to train new apprentices in the trade hopefully they know how good it is to learn a new trade.

The 2019-2021 Carrier Outdoor Units have had multiple issues with the contactor coils. They used some not to good contactors in those, and they short out, and blow the low voltage fuse.

Emerson sure switch is the way to go installed one on my unit I like it alot better it's alot quieter it also has added features like brown out protection don't have to worry about ants getting in-between the contacts it also uses less low voltage to operate. It's a little bit more money but worth every penny as far as I'm concerned 6 years old and still going strong and my name is Nick and I approve this message lol.

3:29 ehh, large shop vac, with large hose. whatever the 2" dia. hose doesn't grab up, scoop out. a bucket and hand scooping works fine sometimes, but others? nope.

@@PipeDoctor I understand not carrying them, they're a pain when that large. maybe one truck with a vac. just for condenser service? or maybe a leaf vacuum/blower would be better, since there shouldn't be anything in there too large for them. it wont work if the stuff is wet though. 🤔 I'm always using tools made for other jobs for anything and everything else I can think of.

Carrier contactors always do that lol. Its easier just to remove 1 wire before checking contactor. Capacitor its easier just to remove fan and herm. No need to remove common and potentially make loose connection

You can check the capacitor when the system is running and it will tell you the capacitance while under a load, then you don't have to worry about making a loose connection. Read amp draw on start winding that goes to herm, multiply that by 2650. Check the voltage across herm and common terminal. Divide that number by your voltage. Amps*2650/ voltage. Do this with the fan, same. Check amps on start winding going to fan term, multiply by 2650 then read voltage across fan and c

So you ever check the capacitor while its running under a load? As long as you can read what its rated for in place. Just a tiny bit if math but its quick and supposedly gives you a better test because you can read the actual capacitance while its under a load. I don't ever check the contactor coil during a ma unless there is a problem becuase what i have seen in 16 years its either good or its shorted and there is no in between. So i don't see a way you can predict one that will short out soon and blow a fuse. I will check and see how burned the contacts are and recommend replacing. Am i missing something with the coils? I have never seen one read just a little off. Usually 12 to 17 or is 0 to 5 ohms and shorted and already causing a problem. I didnt know you could predict one shorting. Im might start checking them just to see. Im assuming if you checked one and it read 9. Ohms you might recommend replacing it. Or like 19 to 20 recommned replacing it. Even though i have been doing it 16 years, 18 including school and still try and learn from other people in the field. Love the channel. When im burned out it makes me want to get back to work watching these lol

@@joea2274 it flows the liquid into the system. The refrigerant separates. Therefore heavy sinks. So you flip it and the heavy liquid comes first. Did that explain it for you?
