recently my doctor advised me to do pranayam every day because I have asthma...the difficulty I am facing is I can't breathe in for 5 sec straight😅 I hope it will resolve with the practice.

I have (moderate) asthma too! Idk if you’ve ever taken a PFT test, but it kind of helps me to think of it like that. Like keep sucking in air even if you feel like you can’t. Even if you’re not actually sucking in air, I feel like there’s a “fake it till you make it” aspect to it. Edit: but also do what you need to do to not induce an attack! You know your body best 🫶

Namaste , I read your reply but still I am confused. Your example good if there are solid things in bag. Then 'last in' will be 'first out '. But with air, this will be like ballon, where bottom air goes out first . As you say while exhaling if collar bone softens first, then when air from stomach has to go out, that time collar bone has to again expand. Kindly explain . Thanking you

Namaste, I have one doubt. While inhaling deeply and exhaling : belly expands then chest and then collar bone. While exhaling belly should go in first then chest and then collar bone, isn't?
@BhartiYoga2 жыл бұрын
Hi Nagesh, no its follows last in, first out concept. Think of this as a deep bag ( referring to the lungs here) . Once you fill the bag fully, when you want to empty it, the thing on the top comes out first and the thing at the bottom comes out last. So Yogic breathing follows the same concept. Hope this helps :)
