As a Kiwi with little sleep but no bias LR looks quicker up wind at least but only just. Ineos looks so solid in big winds and just rips downwind. LR tho to bear away at 102kmph at that first mark the next race OMG! Balls!

As we get down to the wire with these two it has become more apparent that 'win the start, win the race' has again become the key. While racing is tight, as long as the lead boat sails error free passing is so difficult. They are so evenly matched. This whole series could come down to one wind shift.

I am an Inios fan but after yesterday my admiration for LRRP knows no bounds I would be too disappointed if they won - I feel they have the strongest package (just) ! The Kiws wont relish me3eting either boat,

As a fan without expert knowledge, it seems Luna Rossa lose races with mechanical issues and Ineos lose races with mistakes. The boats seem evenly matched, but the Luna Rossa team seem to have a slight edge in terms of sailing.

There’s nothing left out of the beaten track in that part of the city 😛 But if you want some true basque chuletón (T-bone) try Sagardi in El Born and for some excellent tapas, Bar Cañete in one of the streets perpendicular to Ramblas.

Inios give a second win to Prada with that boundary error when they had a chance to be two points up, this might cost them the Americas cup.

Is the Luna Rossi boat a bit fragile? They seem to be having more issues than the other boats have had but, they taped the boat together and pushed it as hard as any boat has been pushed so far. And the tape held and they won! All credit to them.

Watched it all then race too planetsail to get the what happened Plot from the Matthew Sheahan. Brillaint reporting. Ineos start history is worrying. Made in Britain may still mean something with having watched 3 LRP break downs. Must win the starts as it is a dominant factor. Then sail away and run your own course. If you are second you really need to hang in their at all costs. My prediction Ineos concentrate on fast starts more than blocking. Sail their own course. Hope its high winds & LRP crack a little bit more. Ben needs to realise match sailing at these speeds is guaranteed. Ineos are actually faster but all in the wrong places. Win the placing.

my take is that Luna Rossa has a slight vmg advantage upwind, and Rita downwind, BUT the first leg is always upwind...

Ineos must be kicking themselves for their 'self goal' in incurring a boundary penalty in Race 8. But even then, though they seemed to have a faster boat speed, LR simply sailed better and kept increasing the gap, especially during manoeuvres.

Too many Olympian dinghy stars possibly on the UK boat? Against a seasoned down to Earth sailor like Spithill. The sheer guts of Luna Rossa sailing like that after such a major dunk is something special.

LR are the overdogs. Pretty girl privilege. I like Ineos out of the box design and root for them as underdogs but I am equally proud of LR. Anything can happen but the money is on LR.

Excellent questioning of the teams. Ben Ainslie sounds a bit too laid back and complacent, but I don't believe that's how he operates. It would be a pity, but this may go to a penalty shoot-out! ⛵🌞😎

A few people who raced with or against Ben in the past actually mentioned how he tends to get aggressive and angry fast, which is both positive and negative, and you can partially tell by the onboard comms. But he does apparently also calm down super easily 😊

Fibre optics (weirdly) can be used as stress gauges. Assume they use this tech to measure loads on the rudder/foils…..

A shame LR had the issue in the first race as it was great action at the first mark. A bit of a shocker that INEOS who has looked fairly dialed with pre-starts made such a gaffe in race two. INEOS's metrics today were better (i.e., granted they lost the second race, but the numbers like VMG all show them faster) and one has to wonder that if the conditions shift to the norm (9-16 kn which the boats are actually designed around and typical this time of year) that INEOS missed it's chance in the higher end conditions that at least on paper favor them.

you also have to taken into account that LR had aerodynamical parts which were repaired on the water. Even though it looked like they did a very good job, it was certainly not perfect and probably added a little bit of drag.
