My girl didn't get picky until around 5 or 6. My boy on the other hand started when he was 2! I bought him t-shirts in the spring, he would only wear one of them, until bib sis started helping him get dressed. Then she was able to convince him to wear those shirts, but heaven forbid Mama suggests them!

I have gone through lots of this throughout my life. Sometimes we are on the struggle bus. I am over 60 and taking care of grand babies. It is what it is. Progress not perfection. Seasons of life each have their own challenging moments. Anybody who doesn’t want to be with you in your semi-clean house does not deserve to be invited over.

My CREAMY potatoes. (Secret recipe until now) Simmer diced potatoes in salted water, but add a scoop of minced garlic while it's simmering. YUM! Strain soft potato's using a colander It's ok of the garlic rinses away. It's already done it's job. It's also ok if the garlic stays with the potatoes. Return the hot potatoes to the pot, and use a potato masher to mash in cream cheese (a lot of cream cheese) and butter. (No one will realize what you've done. They'll just believe they're the creamiest garlic potatoes ever!) The trick is to do your creaming while the potatoes are still hot, and while the cream cheese and butter can melt, which keeps it soft. Sometimes we'll stir in a little shredded cheddar too. But even without the cheddar, I've not yet found their equal. Enjoy 😊

I agree that one of the keys of mashed potatoes is to mash them WHILE THEY’RE STILL HOT. Something happens when they cool, and even if you re-heat them, the texture will never be the same.

Fellow wavy/curly here... I love showering & styling at night too. My best advice is to put a good amount of gel in, let it dry all the way (I blow dry), then pile it on top of your head (don't scrunch out the gel cast!). In the morning when you take it down is when you can scrunch out the crunch. Good luck!

I don't always understand why others feel they need to tell someone your not feeding your child the right foods or right breakfast. Also an activity idea, my girls love going to our local Library. You might already take your kids to the library. It's somewhere different and they make friends and get to bring books home. It's a fun time!! If you already go to the library that's great if you don't or your not interested, that's great too.

Arial my dear, for your baby’s hair try using aloe Vera gel that is a little sticky and thick and a bit less water. The Jason brand is great and is great on skin too. The gel will help with the craziness and when she gets up from a nap or in the morning you can just spritz a little water on it to reactivate the gel and finger comb. A light-hold natural gel will also work and will last a day or two 😊 I like Kinky Curly curling custard but that may be too sticky for your baby’s hair if you’re not used to it 😊

It’s all relative. Texas shutting down when the temperatures were barely below freezing is pretty crazy to us Northerners. I’m in Western Canada. It got to 38°C (100°F) last week and it was pretty unbearable, especially with the forest fires and humidity. We’re a more seasonal mid 24°C (75°F) today, and while it’s grey out it’s absolutely lovely! However, our winters are usually below -10°C (13°F) with plenty of snow and we generally carry on as usual during cold snaps which can get below -30°C (-22°F). In any case, I’d take the cold over the heat any day! I also do not envy the east coast’s Nor’easter storms. Those sound brutal!

Also, I will unashamedly admit there's no way id enjoy the Southern heat 😭😅

I think you are doing a great job of incorporating health-promoting habits into your busy life! Make your coffee EXACTLY the way you like it, you deserve it. Anyone who food-shames your family needs to find a hobby, because they clearly have too much time and energy on their hands...I find it better to focus on gradually adding things (an extra serving of fruit, those bagged salads you just open and mix, a couple servings of beans each week, etc.) rather than taking away things I enjoy. You are a dedicated, loving, playful mom, and you are setting a great example for your sweet kiddos.

"Let's go for a run while the weather is nice" kind of day. We get temps over 100 for days at a time! But I know us cold-weather-wimps are teased a bit when we complain about 40 being "freezing." Especially because it literally is not freezing temps yet. 😂 Love the day in the life of an actual person, Ariel. ❤

I love how real you are. Also, you don't have wavy hair - in my opinion, you have curly hair! The key to successful styling is in knowing your hair type. I have fine hair but lots of it, so I need hold but light products that won't weigh my hair down. A good combo for me is mousse in wet hair, gel and then using a denman brush to style curls while wet. Leave to dry a while then leave to completely air dry or diffuse (look up curly hair vids for diffuser techniques). A game changer for me, too, was washing my hair upsife down in the shower, particularly when using warm (or dare I say hot 😬) water. That way, the force of the water is on the underneath of your head, so if your hair is irritated by the force of the water, it's tucked under the top layer 😊 I hope if you see this comment that it helps!

Sunscreen? Thanks for sharing your day with us! Tip for curly baby hair, use a detangler made for kids because they weigh the hair down a bit more so you'll get less bed head post-naps. Loved the banana pancakes and the kfc bowls, both looked amazing!

After your potatoes have cooked and you’ve drained them, heat up a little milk, about a 1/2 c in the microwave, about 30 seconds, add to potatoes and mash or blend. Then, and only then, add butter. It’s the creamiest and best!!

Girl! You’re looking GOOD! Exercising is working out well for you 😂(punny!) and if you think 75 degrees is hot, you’re in the AC toooo much 😂. Boy do I love that baby girl’s HAIR!! It’s so pretty and she is adorable. I can’t believe she is almost TWO! You’re doing great, Ariel, and I love the new furniture as well, God bless❤ you

You were able to make the mashed potatoes just fine. But, warm the milk. See if that helps, next time. I always use warm milk or the potato water from the freshly boiled potatoes.

I use my kitchenaid mixer or a ricer if I feel energetic for my mashed potatoes. The ricer makes the best mashed potatoes.

To get creamy mashed potatoes, I use my electric hand mixer. Your videos make me laugh and remember the years my boys were young and I had no idea how to cook very well.😂

In Colorado, we call what you used first a blender also and the other a hand mixer. I’m still trying to figure out the secret to non-lumpy potatoes also!

Mashed Potatoes - add a pinch of baking soda or cream of tartar - I only use a hand masher (not electric) butter and milk or hot chicken broth - turns out very fluffy!

Mashed Potatoes! I add milk half a stick of butter and half a block of cream cheese (~4oz) the cream cheese has been a total game changer for my mashed potato game ✌️🤓❤ it also helps to mash them taters and let some of the steam out before adding all the ingredients. Another thing I noticed made a huge difference was using season salt instead of just regular salt. I hope this awkward mom can help out another ❤️❤️❤️

I love your videos! You help remind me that imperfection is ok, and that in moments that seem mundane you can still live it up 😊 Your kids are adorable! My daughter is almost 2 as well. I’m also dreading the potty training phase. Looking forward to your videos about that lol

My exercise strategy, too!-get into the clothes first thing. Get a Foley food mill for the potatoes.

No complaints from me about the breakfast for your son and daughter. My mom didn't do breakfast. Until we were old enough to prepare and clean up after ourselves, we only allowed cold sugary cereal (like Fruit Loops).

The best potato masher for creamy mashed potatoes is the one you can find at Ikea, the one with 2 long handles and the little holes the potato goes through (sorry about the awful explanation 😅).

You should do a video triggering all the critical viewers, show all the things that annoy or causes them to be critical. It would ve hilarious. Yes, I ate that off the floor after five seconds. Yes, I let my children play in front of the tv while I sneak ice cream🤣
I tried "Swedish Death Cleaning" and it CHANGED EVERYTHING!
