You missed a reason! It is comforting in a chaotic world to watch the chaos of mess become organized and clean. I watch clean with me, pressure washing, lawn mowing…..all for the comfort and satisfaction of seeing chaos managed. The narrative on channels like yours helps remind us of more manageable chaos and the importance of not being too serious!

I started watching CWM videos because one day I was depressed and didn’t want to get out of bed. I scrolled to a video where a woman had soft music playing in the background and was cleaning her house. It cleared my mind watching her house go from a mess to peaceful and tidy. So that’s how I start the first day of the week. I get coffee, turn on a CWM video and start cleaning.

When you said that not everybody was taught how to clean growing up, it unlocked a memory from years ago. I was about 20 and just started working at a fast food place. You got trained in every position, but you always started out as dishwasher. The dishwasher also had to sweep, mop, take out trash, and wipe tables. The guy who was training me asked if I knew how to mop. I thought he was joking, but he said young people never know how to mop because their parents don’t show them how. I said,”I’ve seen Cinderella, so I think I’ve got it down.” He laughed so hard, and was so impressed that I actually did know how to clean a floor. He started using that line with all the new trainees.

I've graduated to watching the disaster zone clean ups like midwest and anakatrina. I like to support folks who are helping others. It is really refreshing to see that even thorough chaos can be brought back to a semblance of normality (with a ton of stuff removed via a dumpster or two!). I find that listening to an old tyme radio show gets the most work done for me as I am using my imagination to supply the visuals. Otherwise, I end up just sitting down and watching, since I associate video with viewing! I like this channel for the humour and the connection, so please keep it up Ariel!

I love anakatrina! My children were really rebelling against cleaning one day. "Why do we have to do this!?!" So we took a break and sat down to watch one of her videos. My children "😮😬🥴". And when the break was over, nobody complained anymore. (We also had a good talk about mental illness and people who have challenges we don't have and having grace for those people.) But! They now know why we clean!

Hi, You are such a lovely person. You have no stuffy airs, just a great bubbly character. My guess for another reason why people watch such videos is because watching it tricks our brains into feeling it has tidied or is busy about to do so. By the way, the exact moment ( Many before and after too.) you said „She doesn‘t know if you sat on the couch eating potato chips.“ I was stuffing my face with exactly that. Also, to me there is the typical sense of „I‘m not good enough“ as I watch and compare myself with others. Watching them is like watching what a better version of me could do but isn‘t. Same for when they spend money on clothes and goodies, buy a house, spend time with their kids, have a happy relationship, express their creativity, pursue a job, tend a garden, daily cook, run a household, have a homestead, go on a holiday, do DIY‘s, go out with friends and so on…. Watching others is like I said, watching what a happier or more accomplished version of myself could be like. Pretty twisted I guess. Most of what summed up are not part of my life and watching you and others is like watching a movie. Yet oddly enough, it doesn‘t spur me into action. Also oddly enough, I clean of my own accord when I do so and my house is reasonably tidy enough. To me the not wanting to be alone is what I feel is often going on too, like you said. Is sad to know in a world filled with humans so many are lonely. Anyway, I find you lovely and I hope your channel will get more and more followers. You deserve them…. :). Have a lovely weekend everyone…. :),

To me it's the so-called body doubling (ADD). Which is having another person around while you work on a task. They don’t have to assist directly; just simply being present could help you start, focus, and finish. I noticed that I like to clean the home more at the weekend when my family is at home. Even though I could clean alone while I'm in Homeoffice. 😅 Just like I went to the library for studying instead of just learning at home. 😊

Cleaning videos just bring me so much comfort for the simple reason of thing being very dirty/untidy to being so clean and tidy and awesomely organized. Take wardrobes for example: I love people decluttering their closets and organizing their clothes by color afterwards. it is just so satisfying to look at. Also cleaning other people's houses is way easier than my own apartment - ADHD at its finest. Gives me so much dopamine, just watching other people's places getting tidied!

I have enjoyed watching your videos as you have tried different “plans” as a way of finding one that will work for me. When I worked full time, I had someone come and clean for me. Now that i am retired, I need to figure it out for myself. Looking for the best routine has helped me set up some better daily practices. Still, there is no one plan that works, so taking the parts that work for me is my plan - just need to name it!

I think the term you might want to use is "body double". -its used alot in psychology. I think work is better when others are around to share it. Invite your good buddy(s) over and let them help you clean. They're going to have more enthusiasm to clean your space then you are. Then swap and do theirs. It's a big help both to you and them. It builds community. Get a cleanibg group and have fun. It's a big help. The same goes for delcuttering. Your creativity for solutions and knowledge of cleaning will grow alongside your motivation to keep up the good work. Also, when motivation sucks just dile in to that cleaning community. They'll support your and kick your button to gear. I do this with my buddies every few months and it's a big help.

When I had my oldest son, my neighbor and I used to get together and just visit with each other while the other one was cleaning. It made a job that was hohum. More fun and you got to visit at the same time. Ever since I was in a car accident four years ago I Do better when I can listen to something or listen to a voice. Feel like someone is here and it does give you that push. Plus watching the videos and hearing someone has helped me get rid of things from my grandparents that I thought I had to hold on to that made my space feel small. It's kind of like a magazine in motion the ideas, the inspiration the motivation. I also think now we live in such a busy world that people don't stop and visit and have coffee with their neighbors or their friends as often in the past.

For me cleaning videos... Or honestly any video podcast whatever, music too.... But I prefer chatty videos I don't have to watch intensely. Because I don't always look at the screen especially if I am moving about. I realized years ago that I actually enjoy doing dishes and laundry if I have a video up on my windowsill or in a cabinet or on my bed beside me. A distracts the racing thoughts of my ADHD brain enough for me to auto pilot through the mundane tasks without over thinking or distracting myself with my own racing thoughts. Because they are vast. 😂 I literally have washed my dishes ran to the store came back and thanks to my husband for doing the dishes and he looked at me and said "Are you serious?" It was so painless that my brain didn't even register it was me that did it. 🤣🤣🤣 And that is why because without something to distract my brain cleaning is painful and awful and I just don't wanna ..... But I have to. So thank you for KZbinrs for making me stomach my duties around the house. My most powerful tool in my toolbox. 😊 House work has turned into me time. I also like learning so use the time for other things I am interested in or work on usually revolving around cleaning/ organizing or ADHD and parenting. Love me some neuro science and nutrition stuff too. I am fond of learning from others and also hanging out. I also genuinely like a bunch of KZbinrs and consider them friends. So who wouldn't wanna hang out while we work.

Years ago when I worked downtown the construction companies would put up a wooden fence to keep people out but they would cut circles at different levels so people could look to see what was happening. It was cute to see the business men in suits and ties leaning in to watch the workmen. They were called 'sidewalk superintendents'

Why watch " clean with me" videos? Because Misery loves Company 😂😂

Clean with me is something you're supposed to use as background noise/inspiration while you clean more than a video to sit down and watch, thus clean WITH me... You're so cute! Love your style!

Love your videos as you are so funny, very entertaining and give me a lift. I am in the process of re-doing my kitchen and started watching to get ideas on colors and kitchen decor. Now I watch to compare how growing up in the 60 - 70's was to how families live today. I get a kick out of all these women complaining about the size of their homes and laundry. They should really try a family of 5 living in 800 sq. ft. of space with 1 bathroom and no laundry dryer. Fun part of laundry, all the clothes had to be ironed as everything was cotton.

I think I’m in the boat of watching the cleaning videos because I like the people making them and to procrastinate on cleaning. However, I may try to play one while cleaning now, we’ll see. Thanks!

Yeah, I’m just a watcher.

Watching someone else clean isn’t overwhelming or triggering. More often than not, their homes are pretty tidy already, they just clean. I am talking of course about cleaning videos and not decluttering or tidying up. You know the end result: they will not get interrupted and at the end you will see a highly satisfying and nerve - calming serene space. All this contributes to you feeling optimistic about starting yet again with the never- ending cycle with the mess you have to deal with all day, everyday. And yours is triggering… it is disheartening. Because you know that in a few hours / the next day, you will have to start all over again…..

Your analogies are awesome! I’m a side note I have that same light fixture in my bathroom that you have in yours 🤗

I am on the spectrum and I watch clean/fold/cooking videos and it’s the only way I can do anything. :-)

What I like to do is watch a cleaning a border house video to get me thinking that's how my house will look if I don't get off my ass 😂 then I listen to clean with me videos while I clean
