@@jeanb3908 Yeah, and it’s a shame, because you can’t really trust what you see online, because you aren’t getting the full picture on Yelp then. I rarely base my opinion on a place solely on online reviews. I formulate my own (trying to account for most things) and go by that. Those online reviews are usually just a starting point, I guess.

It did appear to be a lot of food for a medium order, but if I remember from the previous yelp review, the complaint was the medium and the large were approximately the same amount with the biggest difference being the price point, so I would be interested in seeing how much a large order actually contained and if it's worth it compared to a medium order.

I'm glad the restaurant got a positive review, but the one flaw in Daym's reviews is that he is a well-known personality. You have to be living under a rock to have never encountered one of Daym's reviews. I've been following dude for I don't even know how many years now, but the lady in the restaurant recognized him, and we have to assume that it played a part in the portion and freshness of his food. He really needs to figure out a work-around for this because otherwise his experiences are skewed.

Hard disagree. Daym ranted and raved about the food itself. Not the service. Not the price point. About the the flavor and quality of the food. You can't easily change that, especially something like this, on the fly. You can be on your toes for service and even give out more food than you usually would, but food quality and flavor is hard to fake in the moment.

This is what I am constantly saying regarding this exact situation! The Lady recognized you, and that is not your fault. The true fault lies within the establishment for not treating all people the way they just treated Daym Drops. Look at all of the brown stew chicken with a ton of chicken in it??? This was just for Daym.Drops! Do unto him, as they should do unto other hard working paying customers! This is why some of these reviews I can no longer take seriously at all! Once they see and know of Daym, they are going to pull out the stops with all of the extras.

There are a few establishments in New Haven that could have made the "worst" list. I don't get Jamaican food too often because I am primarily plant-based now, so all of my previous go-tos are a no go, unless they have curry shrimp or decent veggie patties. But that chicken did look good. She said she received an influx of customers after your 1st visit, so I can only imagine now. I need to see what shellfish options they have....

Now Daym, the only issue I have is they knew who you were. So, one could say, (in polite conversation) that the staff at this establishment were like, “This guy is a food reviewer, make sure you cook it right”. I’m not gonna lie, that chicken looks really good but if I go in there, am I gonna get the same quality? I mean I’m not a famous food reviewer, so I don’t know. And I know you didn’t know that person was gonna remember you, but maybe get someone else to go in and get the food next time? That’s all I’m saying. That said, your content is still all on 100s.

That whole meal looked immaculate. I never really had Jamaican food, but I have had Jerk chicken. If that counts cool. 😅 anyway, I'm not a fan of Red velvet cake, but I am a fan of other cakes. Daym don't pull that selfish *_stuff_* like SO MANY channels do on KZbin; they'll pin their own comment and ONLY heart their own crap, and 99.9% of the time, it don't be about squat! There's a reason I've stuck with this channel since 2016 when you reviewed Little Caesars Bacon Wrapped Deep Dish Pizza and will continue to do so. I do miss the classic piano tune you used to play when you munched on something that was good - which was an indicator that you were feeling the food and it wasn't garbage. Not really feeling this new music with the vocals...prefer some Instrumental Jazz that soothes the soul as I prepare my soul to be fulfilled with food prepared with Love, Peace and Soul!!!!!!!! Check Paradise in Bloomfield on blue hills ave. I get food from there once a week. Price to portion ratio is crazy. They have different foods different days and times.

Good morning Daym in my opinion they are definitely the best rated Jamaican food restaurant that everyone should definitely check out the food. The price and portion ratio is perfect and you know you are getting your money's worth. This restaurant made changes and elevated above that. This restaurant is my favorite restaurant out of everywhere that you have tried
