Well this is not canon. But even if it was he never starts the legend in the timeline he comes from, but is the legend of the timeline to goes to, which is 100% diffrent from are vary own timeline as Braddock changed event of the past drastically. Honestly I would want the time travel aspect to be included into Dragonball minus story. That way we could see a whole other timeline with completely diffrent sayains. But we will never get a dragonball series away from goku and them.

Bardock did get a massive boost due to almost dying in that death ball...the BS part was that it sent him back in time, not that he turned Super Saiyan, that just requires a high enough power level along with experiencing some raw anger. Though...I don't know why anything in this movie would make him more angry than seeing his whole crew dead and his best friend die in his arms.

Also...dont know how canon it is, but King Kai explained the history of the sayajin to Goku. There were 2 races on planet Vegeta. Tsufurujin and Sayajin. First ones were a high culture with good tec, second ones were kinda like babarians. At some point, they wiped out the Tsufuru, took their tec and made it there own. They started space travel, traided goods and tec and such and after time, became slaves to freezer. So the movie doesnt make sense in any way with that. Also grandfather paradox. You make your own family which will make you...in the future.

My guess is that TFS did this movie because it was never officially dubbed by Funimation, so they decided to just dub it themselves. I'm sure they would also have done "Yo! Son Goku and his Friends Return' (which is also without official dub) by now if it wasn't for the fact that they haven't written half of the characters yet. (Mr. Satan, Videl, Adult Gohan, Goten, Present Trunks, etc.) I suppose they'll cover that sometime during the Buu Saga since we'll be familiar with the new cast by then.

+Blind Wave despite this not particularly being the best of the DBZ movies (just fun to watch) I think one of the reasons they created it is to give origin to The Legendary Super Saiyan from the Saiyan myth (so Bardock is meant to be the original one, while Broly is the one from modern days). It's also meant to explain why Frieza's family is so hateful and possibly fearful towards the Saiyan race; because one of their ancestors encountered the real deal and lost, therefore they should never reach their full potential. I think in the original movie those were Lord Chill's last words before dying. And last but not least I think it's implied that before Bardock was transported to the past there were no ape-like super warriors called Saiyans, just those purple jelly creatures. Thus Bardock was the first of his race and probably enslaving the purple creatures or killing them in the end, taking their home planet (renaming it Vegeta instead of Meat) and recreating historical events by expanding his race through breeding I guess (how I don't know). I think it's best not to think about it too much :P

I feel like they were planning on using Bardock for a story plot for a video game so they made this movie to set it up. Fast foward and in Xenoverse 2 it is shown that Towa teleported him through time before he died. That is sketchy still, but one hell of a marketing strategy on Funimation and Toei's part.

Fun Fact: To become a Super Saiyan, the Saiyans need to produce S-cells who only are produced by the good hearth ones while are in extremely anger. *Goku became good after falling from a mountain, hurt his head and see Krilling being killed. *Vegeta cames to earth, started a good life with bulma and the others and been warned that androids will kill him in the future(also he wanted to surpass goku). *Gohan/goten and trunks are half-human, so it's made easier to them to be good children. *Bardock kinda wanted to help this citizens while also hates freeza and his relatives. *Broly is a pure hearted saiyan but also have anger problems/saw his father dying(DBS)

You don't need to be pure to become a Super Saiyan. Goku himself stated that becoming Super Saiyan, besides obviously being accessible through intense training, "comes from a NEED (and very strong emotions, like anger), not a desire." Bardock, being a pure-blooded adult Saiyan with an angry but consistent nature with little range of emotions before gaining precognition, and despite his desperation over saving his race, did not experience the same level of trauma upon seeing Toma die, that young teenage Trunks did in History of Trunks when he found Gohan dead. He also did not feel like he needed to become stronger, not knowing about the Super Saiyan legend (I think), to fight Dodria & Frieza at first even though he was clearly wrong.

Bardock started with about 10,000 Power level. He got a zenkai boost several times during the first movie and then again when he came back in this one. That raised his power significantly. I still want to argue with people who say that his base power was about 50,000 or lower at this point, since as we saw from other times, the more damaged you become seems to affect the Zenkai boost and you have to reach a certain level of power before Super Saiyan becomes viable.

ShinobiLiger I also think it works on who almost killed you or a goal you have to work towards. Vegeta reached Goku's Kaio-ken x3 power after his Zenkai, he surpassed Zarbon and he reached Frieza because Recoome was being owned by Goku. Like Vegeta said "First Immortality, then the b*tches", just replace "Immortality" with either Goku or Zarbon, and "the b*tches" with Frieza. In this case, Recoome wasn't a problem. He also increased to what he THOUGHT Final Form Frieza's level would be, assuming that the increase was the same as his other transformations. But, as we all know, the increase was much more than his previous transformations. Goku got so much stronger because he sensed Frieza's power, so his healing body increased to that level. So Bardock should have increased past the Supernova that almost killed him, though First Form Frieza likely wasn't using his full power in that attack so...

Yeah, this special was based off a spin-off manga by a self-proclaimed Bardock fangirl, so that's why it's inconsistent and he can suddenly go Super Saiyan, it's just "this would be cool". As for the "brilliant scientist"/"created the fake moon" line, it was English-dub-only, but fair enough since I don't believe either of the Bardock specials had come out yet? So they wouldn't have known it wasn't true yet.

If this Bardock was Cannon it would have created a whole new Timeline where Frieza never existed cause he killed one of his Ancestors. But in Bardocks original timeline where he died by frieza Death Ball, he talks about how they're was a sayain who turned super sayain, a "legend." But supposedly that was Bardock going to the past when he died only to wake up in the past and killing Frieza's ancestor. But also time doesnt work like that. When you go back in time to fix or alter something it creates a whole new timeline from the original where Bardock died. So how is bardock the first Super Sayain Ever, if going back in time just creates a New timeline where you never existed, therefor saying bardock wasnt the very first super sayain. It would only work if Time worked like a straight line, where bardock *dies* comes back to life in the same timeline but in the past. But like I said going back in time only creates new timelines. This shit confuses me so much

It's called "Ode To Joy".

They say "O Fortuna" and then one of them says "Ode To Joy". It's the latter. From Beethoven's Symphony no. 9. To be exact from the finale if I recall correctly. It's also an anthem of European Union. On the other hand "O Fortuna" is from "Carmina Burana" by Carl Orff written over 110 years later.

Just for the record. I know it isnt Canon but. Legends says that the Legendary Super Saiyan appears after 1000 years. This event happened 1000 years before Frieza vs Goku, which made Frieza's race control the Saiyans because of the power they hold. Hmm, I just wish they make Bardock Canon, make a story of Bardock being in the past
