With Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom came the end of the DCEU, otherwise known as the Snyderverse. And while there are some celebrating its demise, there are also many that are mourning the loss of their heroes. But before we turn the page completely, let's take a look back and rank the entire DC Extended Universe. I'm sure this won't be controversial at all!

Man of Steel is trash because it hardly even resembles a narrative feature. It's feels more like a compilation of scenes than an actual movie. Film Crit Hulk has a great essay on why Man of Steel feels this way by failing to answer the 7 key questions of narrative drama, and it hits the nail on the head. Read that, and you will see why people don't like Man of Steel. It's just not well made at all, even BVS is better.

That film is largely responsible for everything that went wrong with DC on film: the grey visual spectrum, joyless tone, shallow characters, bombastic but totally unimpressive action, and wooden charisma vacuum that is Henry Cavill's lead performance set a precedent that the Snyder pictures followed unto their own self-immolation, and the other entries either aped or attempted to correct away from, usually with disasterous results. Snyder's nihilistic, gloomy gamer-boy sensibility has produced a few interesting films, notably Watchmen (2009) and 300 (2007). I'm even among the few who will seriously defend Sucker Punch (2013) for it's sheer suicidal commitment to it's surreal, adolescent trauma-response central metaphor. But as someone to shepherd the hopeful, idealistic icon of Flying Blue American Space Jesus, he was a singularly appalling choice, and the disaster that has befallen DC's attempt to reproduce Marvel's cinematic Superhero legacy is due in no small part to the mismatch between Snyder's depressive personal style, which set the mould for subsequent films in the franchise, and the rather more optimistic subject matter.

The DCEU was pretty much wasted potential to terrible. As bad as people thought Jared Leto's Joker was his scene in Zack Snyder's Justice League showed what could have been. And the hypothetical sequel to Black Adam was also interesting shame they barely did anything in the actual movie though

I went to see FLASH because of Andy Muschietti I love when horror directors make superhero movies And despite everything that made the movie bomb, I had a really good time watching it Muschietti was really able to create a fun and exciting movie experience I hope he gets to direct DCU's BRAVE AND THE BOLD, because he's an amazing visionary

Bad..what a waste of time watching them..I loved the new flash move and the first aqua man movie was like an adventure..it was incredible..peacemaker was amazing…the soundtrack is amazing and introduced me to some great bands

Maybe the fact that Superheroes are inherently childish and ridiculous, and Marvel's realized it early on, is why their more humorous and self-aware tone connected with the public, while Snyder's dark, pompous and self-serious cinematic onanism turned them off. Just a theory.

I think suicide squad is actually the only one of these movies I've actually seen. I could really care less about the DCEU, nothing about it really had anything that appealed to me except maybe Henry Cavill's Superman. Batman V Superman looks interesting i guess. I really enjoyed the newest Batman film but that wasn't the DCEU

Perhaps part of the charm of the DCEU is that it wasn't a perfect juggernaut like the MCU. DC has always had harder edged characters and they are more difficult to portray. It's sad that they are looked at as such a disappointment. Perhaps we should watch them with a more relaxed and generous approach. It would seem to me that WB bears most responsibility for the flawed films rather than the actors and directors. Anyway I ll miss these interactions of the characters.

Only seen 11 of the DCEU films but here's my list. 11 - Wonderwoman 1984 Mildly entertaining but mostly in a bad way 10 - Suicide Squad - Passable in parts but overall a poor film with the worst version of the Joker on film. 9 - The Suicide Squad - Over the top action packed nonsense 8 - Birds of Prey - Pretty average story with an unusual narrative style 7 - Zach Snyders Justice League - Overlong bloated story with too much slo-mo & a depressing soundtrack 6 - Black Adam - Quite entertaining, but the villain was poor 5 - The Flash - Entertaining but the backstory was lacking. 4 - Justice League - Entertaining team up movie that moved at a good pace. 3 - Batman v Superman:Dawn of Justice - Interesting Storyline & wonderful visuals, but could have been better. 2 - Man of Steel - My favourite Superman movie with a great cast, interesting story & great action 1 - Wonder Woman - Better than I expected it to be, great action and a thoroughly entertaining movie.

As mid as the later DC films have been, I’ll still always prefer the more fun, action packed vibes over the overly broody early Snyder films. That being said? I quite liked the Snyder cut. Not all of it. The over use of slow mo and the try hard “coolness” are among some of the usual Snyder flaws that bring it down. Also the runtime, also like most Snyder films, is ridiculous. But I actually cannot believe you ranked BvS over Man of Steel. You say he packed in the death of Superman, Doomsday and Wonder Woman as if those are good things. The movie is so damn bloated it might as well be a corpse that has spent a week in salt water. In fact, that is a pretty spot on metaphor for the movie overall. A bloated corpse. I’m no fan of Man of Steel but it is miles better than BvS but I guess this IS your list.
