I LOVED the Amalgam Universe and I would love to see it revisited with a wider array of characters, Both those that were older and newer than the 1990's staples when this came out. I would love to see a Black Adam/Black Panther mash-up protecting their homeland of Wakhandaq. I'm sure Deadpool would be a big player if it happened today. Psycho Pirate and Deadpool maybe... although I'm sure most people would want Deadpool/Harley Quinn in some form.

I doubt we'll see the Amalgam Universe for a LONG time. The closest we have is like Fortnite. People seem to pit Marvel and DC against each other like they're archenemies for some reason. I'd like to see a return of the Amalgam Universe as well though. There's many stories that can be told through them.

I kinda wish they’d do this concept again today-the Amalgam universe was such a weird twisted concept done in such a unique and exciting way. Yeah, you’d get some crazy shit like Lobo the Duck, but there’d be three Super Soldiers and Dark Claws right behind it. I know the concept itself was inherently unsustainable, but I’d love to see them take a second swing at this (even taking into account how both companies have faltered a bit from when they last did the idea). My favorite part is, when the universes split back into two, both brothers acknowledge how strong the other’s universe was and share a respectful “You fought well” to each other and it’s awesome!

I love Amalgam so much. Such an interesting, stupid, and funny concept and execution. Found a copy of Amazon in a charity shop this year which was such an unexpected surprise. I wish they would bring do reprints or revisit the universe or the concept. Amalgmating characters is an obsession of mine and one of my favourites has to be Thor and Etrigan - "THORIGAN". Their origins have some parallels and a demonic Thor would be sick to see.

They kinda did that with Speed Demon who was an amalgamation of Ghost Rider, The Flash, and Etrigan. Also they DID collect the issues if four trade paperbacks but good luck finding them for a decent price. They range from $60-$100. Sadly I don't think we'll see it again. It's a remnant of a time when Marvel and DC as companies were more amicable and when some of their titles were failing they would do a crossover to raise interest in those titles. Nowadays there's too much bitterness. I'm sure many of the writers would jump at the chance to do another inter-company crossover since most writers revolve between Marvel and DC.

There has been plenty of hence and references by both Marvel and DC that maybe one day they will bring back the amalgam Universe in fact this is even stated during the events of the one shot Dark Crisis on infinite Earths: Big Bang, where Barry has mapped out the the new DC infinite universe and the amalgam universe was referenced as Earth 1996.

I always enjoyed the Amalgam Universe, and it might be the last time the comics truly surprised everyone - I don't think anyone expected THIS to happen with Marvel vs DC. And it's a bit of a shame the likelihood of its return is low considering that Marvel and DC would have to come together to make it. Although Marvel DID try to do it on its own with Infinity Warp, which didn't work as well, IMO.

There was nothing like living through this period, right as the crash was obliterating the hobby. The DCvM trading cards, the ballot system, the tracking down of all the Amalgam titles and even arguing amongst our friends over the validity of the jokey self-referential callback text boxes referring to comics of the past that never actually existed in many of the issues. It was really something great.

While I’m confident we will eventually see an Avengers vs Justice League movie sometime down the line (not necessarily soon but eventually), I’d absolutely love some sort of live action tale of the Amalgam universe. Be it a miniseries or a trilogy of films, and have actors that look like a combination of the two characters from the films. The first person that comes to mind for Super Soldier would be Chris Pine, as an in between of Cavil and Evans

My favorite amalgam universe moments was when: 1. Doctor Doomsday was aware of the merge to create this comic universe And 2. When Professor Kang was ALSO aware of this merge and STILL decided to split Spiderboy into the comic book counterparts that made Spider-Boy into existence.

What's crazy is that I literally just started connecting the dots on how Hollywood has been building up all the back stories for so many characters for decades. I watched "The Golden Child," and Eddie Murphy runs into King Lannister himself, Hiro's Mom from the TV show Heroes, who is scene wearing 4 of the Infinity Stones in her hair... you also see the Terminator landscape at the end, Mortal Combat Battleworld references, 3 Kid Ninja (or whatever that movie was called... with DJ from Rosanne). Speaking of Heroes, you see the Golden Childs Mom again, along with Jesse Stamos, who is not Nathan Petrelli as Peter's brother, he is Nathaniel Richards trying to protect Peter from going Nuclear... Hayden is maybe Supergirl. Eddie Murphy is the original Jer-L (Jerk - He Who Remains). Trading Places with Dan Ackroyd, who realized he was trapped in Ghostbusters -> Seygurney Weaver (Aliens) -> Prometheus -> David -> Magneto... Like we have to follow all the movies and shows, etc... in a perfect timeline... not of release, but in the timeline shown within the show itself. Dan Arnold was in True Lies but passed away. So Jeff Daniels takes on that role in Speed, where we see The One (Keanu -> Superman?) and "Miles Dyson" from Terminator. If we watch Don't tell Mom the Babysitters Dead, the mom is also the mom in "Twins" (6th Day -> Arnold becomes Terminator). We also so Sue El (Swell) in the Fashion Factory with (Stapler guy from Office Space) which is the same uniforms from Linda Hamilton job in 1984 Terminator. Deep Impact (a StarTrek Deep Space 9 tie-in with Harry Potter -> Pepper Potts in Ironman) has 2 Suns just like on Xandar. We see the Fulcrum and Bruce Almighty. Leo Biedemerman (gets Johnny Blaze Bike from Criminal Minds Hotchners daughters garage (Lord of the Rings)... but Rudy is also trapped. Because The Goonies had the Walsh Family (Americas Most Wanted) finding a map to a treasure. His older brother is Thanos himself (Brolin) with Data (Inspector Gadet - Star Trek), girlfriend "Andy"... Brolin's headband is also a clear tie to Drew Barrymore (Charlie's Angel's -> One-eyed "Willie"-"Willy Wanka and the Cholcolate Factory (Dr. Frankenstein -> StrangeFate) who was the young sister of Elliot (Young Christoper Reeve original Superman movie) and Cosmo in ET. We had Jim Varney passed, so Jim Carrey came in as Gus from Don't Tell Mom... Truman Show... which is an Ed Harris Tie in for Apollo 13 (Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Bill Paxton) and eventually 007/Indiana Jones Dad tie in for "The Rock" with Johnny Blaze getting released -> Con-Air tie in with Cusack (2012) and Malkavich (Rounders -> Matt Damon -> Robin to Afflecks Batman forever pass from the passing Val Kilmer. Top Gun ties in Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer with their commander was also the Cop from Masters of The Universe and Principal from Back to the Future.... Cruise with Mission Impossible tie-ins with Vingh and Korg and Bruce Willis and the 5th Element herself (Resident Evil -> Hive)... Die Hard -> Lethal Weapon (Rene Russo -> Thors dad -> Ransom "Give me back my son" -> Gary Senise (CSI:NY and Vegas and Miami tie ins)... A few Good Men -> Jack Nicholson (Joker) -> Shining (Fulcrum/Fault). D.A.R.R.Y.L. is also a funny tie-in.. Like I can go on. DuckTales has the Genie Lamp and Green Medallion. The Secret of Nihm -> Indiana Jones -> Fival goes west -> Great Mouse Detective -> Rescuers Down Under -> Cock-a-doodle-doo -> 101 Dalmations Terrance Howard steals Lightning McQueen from the end of Ironman 1 -> takes some beats from "The New Guy" -> starts an "Empire" Indiana Jones Dad is Hunt for Red of October (Jack Ryan) and 007 Agent -> Holy Grail Scene -> Howard the Duck... His son is Andrew "Ender" Wiggins -> Same Andy from 1995 Toy Story Tom Hanks, Tim Allen... one castaway with a Starwars Death Star named Wilson... other is Tim the Toolman Taylor with a fence weilding neighbor named Wilson. Speed -> Dennis Hopper with 9 ³/⁴ fingers -> Harry Potters Dyagnolly Post at 9 ³/⁴... All the back stories have been written. When unfortunate deaths arose (or individuals wanted out), delays had to be made... but I don't think anyone is really prepared to understand who was actually who and when things played out. Curly Sue... let this one play out hahaha in your own head for a second (Hermoine Granger?) I honestly can't figure out which of like 4 players is still trapped somewhere waiting for Affleck and Robin to open that hiding spot haha. Just remember... It's all just for show. Pretty cool how they got it all done behind the scenes and in front of our face without really anyone truly understanding the scope of all of it.

Sadly I was too young to get into comics even though I watched Spider-Man, X-Men, and Batman on TV. However I am in LOVE with the Amalgam Universe. It feels like an encapsulation of what Marvel and DC would do when they wanted to drum up interest in faltering titles. I wish we could revisit this universe again and see amalgamated versions of more recent characters but Marvel and DC have become too bitter to do such a collab again. Shame cause I'm sure there are plenty of people at both companies who would love to work on such a project since alot of the writers at both tend to revolve between Marvel and DC.

Years later, Marvel has revisited the concept by mashing their own characters together, like Cap and Strange becoming Soldier Supreme, Thor and Iron Man becoming Iron Hammer (last story, Super Soldier teases a morose Stark Odinson that his dour mood is ironic as he know he's made up of two major party animals), Moon Knight and Spider-Man becoming Arachknight, and so on. I'm disappointed they didn't combine Ben Grimm and Luke Cage just so his catchphrases "It's Clobberin' Time!" and "Sweet Christmas!" becomes "It's Christmas Time!" But that universe still exists so my dream is not dead yet. And some of them have made it into games like Future Fight.

DC has been real hard into the multiverse recently, but rather than a grab bag of characters (which I love don’t get me wrong) the more interesting thing is when two or three specific universes team up Like Earths One Two and Three for instance A story where the Silver Age Ultraman, Golden Age Superman, and Silver Age Superman are forced to team up (and not necessarily to the cheesy standards of the Silver Age) I could see the same thing with Riddler, Kingpin, and The Big Question How would two villains deal with an amalgamation of themselves? What comedy could come out of it? What conflicts would they have? What schemes would they cook up

In the end, it was a fun idea but it reeks of 1990s storytelling (and I know some of you know what I mean by that). Also, some of the amalgamations were kind of lazy. The X-Patrol, for example, barely contain any of the Doom Patrol characters. How can there not have been a character amalgamation that used Robotman and Negative Man? both of them are staples of that particular team. Another lazy amalgamation was “Doctor Doomsday”. It seems like only reason they did that was because the characters names came together with “Doom”. You know what a truly creative amalgamation of Doctor Doom should have been? “Ra’s Al Doom” (or “Ra’s Al Düm”).

To behonest I would have made a combination of Batman and the son of the Green goblin that became the SilverBat after he wrongfully saw the Golden Spider "Peter Carter" over the corpse of his father. Mistaken his fathers gonlin glider as a Bat Bruce Osborn ect with fun of combining Bat and spider villians and combining some even the JLI Eddie Brock/Guy Gardner with the green latern corpse as the Symbiote corpse

This was pretty cool. Too bad they let this universe "die",with neither Marvel and DC being able to use them without the other. Superman would beat this version of Hulk because of Banners inability to increase his strength due to self imposed limitations. Superman doesn't have those psychological issues, and found a way to defeat the Professor Hulk

I kinda wish they revisit this as I am baffle how did they NOT made a fusion between the Trinity and the Big Three. Ok they got Superman and Captain America but what about Iron Man and Batman (Iron Bat) and Thor and Wonder Woman (Thunder Woman)? I imagine their origin is that Iron Bat will have Bruce kid origin but as he travel around the world, he get kidnap and etc and become Iron Bat while Thunder Woman would easily be like an Amazon raise to be an Asgardian!

I mean Thor and Iron man weren't the most popular characters at the time, they would only be so when the MCU shows up. Captain America, along with the X-MEN were some of the most popular characters in the 90a, meaning they were more likely to have amalgamations with DC characters. Tho as u can see Iron Man does merge with Green Lantern

@@gravityfalls1826 Well yeah I can get why Wolverine was merge with Batman cos he was popular back then. I guess Storm was popular aswell? Never read much comics back then. This is why I would want them to revisit the fusion again so they can do it the right way! Like wouldn't Green Lantern be fused with Nova (Green Nova) cos the corps are abit similar or how about Blue Beetle with Spiderman (Blue Spider)?
