So as I learn the Mirage 2000C I thought making a mission to test my skills would be a cool way to do it, so here we are in this video are trying to hit a ground target and we get bounced by some su-27s we have to fight our way in, and fight our way around all the while avoiding enemy AAA and SAMs. Hope you guys enjoy the video thank you for the ongoing support with the channel. Hey, great video! I'll gladly try the mission myself, see if I can at least nail the two Flankers :) Two tips though: 1. at 14:09, that's not a bingo warning, but the config warning - since your drop tank was already empty and you got rid of all bombs, you should switch your FBW mode to increase the g limit 2. when you were dropping bombs, there was a large cross on your hud - you were going too fast for the pipper to be accurate. IIRC you should be between 350kts and 450kts for the pipper to be accurate. Since you were so low and dropped 4, it was close enough, though :)

Hey GS, in case you didn't know, you can have your HDD displayed on your helmet, it's called VTB viewport in the controls menu, but you have to put your helmet visor on first I think. And btw VTB stands for "Viseur Tête Basse", or Heads Down Display. It's nice to see the Mirage still getting some love, hon hon hon

thanks for the vids bro. learning so much from watching them. i've been playing dcs about a week now and can confidently pilot the f14 and the f16. got my first 6k earlier in multiplayer. 4 long range aim120c's all hit at a range of about 25nm and then 2 aim9 kills from the distance of about 4nm's before returning home and landing. I thought it was going to take a good 6 months to figure DCS out but thanks for your video's i'm progressing much faster than that.

Amazing video. That makes me wonder - does DCS simulate flying in ground effect? The plane should require more pitch up trim but less AoA at those conditions (increased lift and a tendency to pitch down in ground effect). Then again the 2000 is fly by wire so actually it should probably be transparent to the pilot but it would be interesting to try it with an old school mechanical stick plane and see what DCS makes of it. BTW Growling have you seen "les chevaliers du ciel" ("sky fighters")? Coincidentally I saw it yesterday. It's a French Topgun like movie about the Mirage. Story is unrealistic but the aerial photography is spectacular. Best flight footage I've ever seen. I recommend you watch the blu ray if you can. Those mirage shots deserve HD.

Even though the M2000 is fly-by-wire, you could theoretically still check for the effect of ground effect by looking at the equilibrium values for angle of attack in level flight. Although, I guess at 500kts and below tree tops, the AoA is already low enough to make any AoA quite hard to measure indeed, and even more the loss due to ground effect :). @Growling Sidewinder: that Mirage run, the effective editing and nice added sound effect earned you an instant subscribe - this is very movie-like ! Thank also you for being kind enough to share the .miz file, that will be tomorrow challenge.

From what I heard here in France, the mirage 2000-5 like the rafale won't be at our disposal. They will be at the exclusiv use of the "armée de l'air" and the "Marine Nationale ". Don't know if it's true though...

Hey GS nice vid as always, one of the best dcs vids ever...this proved the capability of the mirage 2000, that’s why my country (India) used the mirage 2000 exceptionally well in mountain ranges as an close air support, with its GBU bombs with lot of accuracy, if you could maybe do a recreation of the Kargil war when Indian mirages bombed high targets in mountains, while dodging many MANPADS which were stingers.
