10:22 "An actual global release" is what i want since more than 15 years now. This game has absolutely no right to be in this kind of state where only a very few parts of the world can play the game. It's not the early 2000 anymore. You have a lot of players from the EU, US, Africa and more that just want to have a chance to play and compete on a fair ground. The fact that in so many places in the world it's impossible to have a recent cab nor e-amusement is a freakin joke. And even if you get a somewhat recent cab like A20PLUS, it's still outdated, miss songs, speedmods, screen filter or arrow option... Like wtf are they doing ? Konmai please do better and stop living in the past ! A much younger game like SMX is trully global, have ways to save scores, use custom steps (where did the edit option went Konami ?), montly upload and all this for free. You just have to pay a credit and wherever you are, you play the same game as anyone else. Like how hard this is ?! Seriously if they call this new version "world" and don't do anything to adress this main issue we can be 100% sure that they know and really don't care. On the "non rant about global issue" side my guess was a new cab for the 25th anniversary with new software AND hardware. Them removing support for older models recently, to me, could confirm this. So they would just have to deal with the new cab and gold (+ white?) cabs. A bunch of things you said are also stuff i'd like to see, such as a revamp of difficulty. We all know that the 19s right now are not really 19s. They always had issues rating their hardest chart (just looking at the 10s before X, those 10 converted in the 13-18 range lmao). I wouldn't mind if they just changed the high end rating or completly exploded the X-rating and went for like a 1-30 rating tbh. The game needs more than a fresh coat of paint and this would help. I'd love to see a new type of arrow and/or a complete change on the current shock arrows. Edit mode making a comeback would be really sweet (show me some couple/co-op charts !). And a lot of other things i have in mind but it's already a big wall of text so i'll thank anyone who read my ted talk. : ) Can't wait to see what this bring us and i'll look forward to your video once the new cab is released ! To be fair, I think adding 10 more levels to the rating system would make it even harder for charts to be correctly rated. At best, we can expand the rating system to level 20 so that charts like Lindwurm and New Era can become 19s, Rise as One ESP and other infamous 17s be promoted to 18s, and for gods sake someone rate My Drama down to 14, that 15 rating sounds like two developers having literal drama because they refused to have a GL ESP chart at level 14. But then again, that's my take. Expanding to 30 levels ain't changing anything. Chartists need to deconstruct every chart generation by generation and rate them again because it seems that modern charts are becoming more disconnected from how charts were rated back in A20+ and earlier.

DDR JP should have been the name. That name doesn't make sense when you bar out the rest of the world from the mix. It's annoying how bad the US gets shafted by Konami despite having a pretty active base and lots of support.

I have a feeling they're going to add in a lot more customization options, possibly a new game mode that recommends songs within your skill level. Hopefully an easy speed mod

It's easy not to recognize them at first, but Emi has her name on her waist band so there is definitely no guessing there, and context clues like Emi dancing with Rage in previous games when they were paired up and it just looking like Rage in general even without anything concrete yeah that's got to be him.

This game looks like it was released while still in beta. No full screen videos? The same background for all songs? No onscreen dancers?

Would love a current gen release. I don’t have anywhere near me that will have this. Would be nice to experience this as well as playing on a mat. I like playing on the controller

I actually love the concept.. But after i saw the mockups from the official site.. I'm disappointed a little :( I hope the final version will be a lot better

What I would really like to see out of DDR World: - Double mode gets a Beginner difficulty like the DDR Ultramix/Universe series - New graphics - New character designs (as seen with Emi and Rage) - New announcer (The Ozomatli guys are annoying as fuck and just completely outdated) - Step colors at the beginning of Freeze Arrows similar to ITG - A WORLDWIDE RELEASE RATHER THAN JUST JAPAN, EAST ASIA AND SOME PARTS OF THE US - 0.25x speed modifiers (0.25x, 0.75, 1.25, etc.), Dark, Darker and Darkest modifiers for non-eAmusement pass players - New background stages, the current stages are outdated as fuck. This isn't 2008 - 2014 people! - Bring back Couples mode from DDR 2nd Mix, but make it similar to Team mode from StepManiaX - Bring back Edit mode! Why was this removed? StepManiaX recently added an Edit mode last year which you can do via the StepManiaX app - New arrow colors for 24th notes and beyond. The fact they're still green makes it all confusing - Shock Arrow timing window adjustments - New UI, the current UI is confusing

In my opinion new background stages is actually impossible. Even there is said on remywiki that ddr A3 got graphical downgrade for background stages tho (dunno if it's true or not) You know it is almost 8 years ddr still uses the same hardware, even the 20th anniversary cabinet uses the same hardware inside. So if there is no hardware upgrade.. It's probably impossible Also Konami has released the mockups on ddr world official site and they seem removing the background now, dunno if they will beworking on a new animation for gameplay later

Well said.. 👍🏽 StepManiaX as this rate will surpass DDR as the game is thriving and expanding as we speak. ITG is what DDR should have been especially in the mid 2000s. Konami had more than a decade to support and promote DDR globally. D&B essentially dropping their subscription to Emusement is a big loss for Konami. I don’t see how Konami can use “World” synonymously with DDR. It sounds all too contradicting!

To be honest I hate stepmania it takes business away from Konami Is preventing them for adding new songs, it's bootleg ddr Pirating the same reason why Konami had to sue itg because they were taking away Konami profits away.

I think D&B still has e-Amusement, at least at a few locations. It's just that the machines are running _DDR A20 Plus_ and not _A3_ sadly. I did play on one machine in Offline Mode, instead of Online or Local Mode, and it still had "No Tears Left to Cry" by Ariana Grande, for some reason.

The strange thing is that Konami *could* have continued ITG's existence since that's what usually happens during copyright lawsuit. Konami in this case takes all the rights to the ITG IP and decides what to do with it. And all people got in exchange are shock arrows. Welcome to Monopoly.

I think the DDR department will abandon all 3D scenes including characters But 3D scenes are an old tradition of DDR

I'm in the camp of not changing anything visually, a lot of songs need to get re-rated, the game doesn't need to fundamentally change like PIU Phoenix did (unless you want to add AAAA, AAA+ and remove anything that isn't an A grade because pandering to snowflakes), and the game urgently needs a real global release without any stupid contracts or obscenely expensive cabinets. After Phoenix, I'm honestly really not wanting to give a company even the chance to make bizarre changes anymore, not when the alternative is that you need to pay a subscription AND your credits if you want to access a full song-list and leave X3's Happy Mode, on top of paying even more to obtain early access to stepcharts. But, whatever's coming is coming anyway so I might as well enjoy A3 while it lasts.
