I love wiring. It's east but, ever since I was declared legally blind, it makes doing the job a lot harder and it takes 3 or 4 times longer to get the job done. Yup. I build cars I'll never be able to drive on the street. BTW: 55-57 Chevy car rear end axles interchange with your trucks rear end giving you a 5 X 4.75" bolt pattern.

Haha im. Not that boring...
@GrampaleleСағат бұрын
You guys say that you hate wiring, and that it's boring, but it's actually my favorite part of a car build! Something about it just appeals to me. If it were up to me (and I know that it isn't!), I'd rip every single existing wire out of the car, and make it all fresh and new. That wiring harness would surely have that covered....

@geraldscott430212 сағат бұрын
I never used anything like that. I always used a combination of stock wiring and custom made wiring. On my first car, a 1963 Nova SS, back in 1975, I accidentally shorted something out, and destroyed over half the wiring in the car. I put it back together piece by piece, and changed a few things. I made my own fuse block. I ran a completely separate circuit for everything. I ended up with a lot less wiring than what it originally had. Carbureted cars with no backup lights crank windows, and no 4 way flashers don't need complicated wiring. The ignition switch was broken, and I just used a pushbutton starter switch and a toggle switch to turn power on/off to the ignition. I had a long toggle switch panel under the dash, and every switch was marked with that old school label tape from one of those label makers with a round dial and a trigger to make each letter.

That harness is slick. I had a 51 Ford years ago that had wiring trouble, so I ordered a book on wiring Going to try and rewire that car. This was in the early 70's no harnesses to be ordered off the net(ha ha). Me replacing that harness with spools of wire was never going to happen, paid a man to do a patch job and just drove it till I traded it off back to the man I bought it from.

As an automotive technician for the last 36 years and having had to do a few jobs like this one classic vehicles, 12 hours labor would be to start. To have complete and finished, you ll have close to 20hrs in a job like that. I would charge 100$ an hour. That's mostly because I've lost my ass on doing stuff like this for a living. 😂 Cheers from Junk's Automotive
