It is good to watch and interesting videos but if you took a car like that on the road here in the UK the cops would pull you over and they would find so many safety issues wrong with the car (seats and steering column for starters) that you would end up with a really hefty fine and likely enough points on your licence to keep you off the road for at least a year.

When I boosted the 5.3 in my Camaro the engine had so many miles the ring gap was perfect already lol. The one issue I ran into was the factory valve springs. It had a built in rev limiter at like 5k rpm because it would float the valves so badly. Doing springs on those engines is easy and like you said, worst case you have to swing a motor in it. Looking forward to watching this build, gonna be a good one!

You could use windshield ribbon tape next time thats what was used way back when in the 70s and 60s to hold stationary windows works good to take up the voids and not mess as long as you are going on metal that has some paint on it you are good to go. Great job love the channel

I think you did great on that car. You got it cheap and it appears real solid and not a rust bucket. Now you are putting speed in the speed shop. I totally understand, sometimes you want a car to burn tires for a full city block from light to light. Getting big tires that stick and chirp the whole distance on a car built to go faster is cool but that car wont grab the attention and give off the show a tire roaster car will. Hearing tires squealing long distances is what hot rod shops are known for and they usually have a particular car built for it. My tire roaster used to be a 71 Ranchero I built but I sold it to thin the fleet. My 67 Skylark stands in for that when wanted but it is to nice to do much of that in. Can’t remember how many years since I did that or drifted in it. I live in the woods and can do burnouts or test hits but I don’t want to crack that car up or hit a deer. None of my other cars are tire roaster material. You make me want to get a new old rough but safe and solid tire burner for my hot rod shop. Love the channel and your old cars. Way to go building what you want the way you want. You are doing it right. You two are a great couple, I always like the humor you create.

I know you weren't planning to, but valve springs, bigger injectors and either the COPO oil pump spring or shim the oil pump spring will help keep that motor alive and it will be way more fun. It will blow the valves closed with beat stock springs. I'm really looking forward to seeing your face when you roll into boost. You thought you liked blowers, just wait😆

@spymoocowgaming Жыл бұрын
i suggest...just because ive seen it before, to upgrade the valve springs. adding boost to the stock configuration will cause valve float early and you will drop a valve or eat a piston when it coil binds and loses the locks. also, go to the junkyard and get a set of truck injectors and decap them. they will do 80 lb per hour

ok.. i got an idea: each turbo will have it's own exhaust, blow-off outlet and turbo outlet... the back will make a ton of heat.. bad for tri five engine bay... use a little more tubing and put the turbos IN the wheel-well area.. then cover the turbos with good solid heat shielding.. almost like 'false-inner fenders' ... this will simplify your cold side piping, it will not only drop engine compartment temps, it will also help cool turbos.. guard the turbos with oil coolers on input side, lowering inlet oil pressure, cooling it and also.. out the way... i saw a similar setup on day one os death week.. sick seconds tom bailey's coverage

Instead of going through the hassle of trying to get a good single pot master cylinder, why not upgrade to a dual for a 67 or latter camaro/chevelle with 4 wheel drums? You have to run a second line from the master down and across the front crossmember to where the factory "T" is. Separate the front and rear brake systems so if you develop a leak you don't lose all your brakes? The DDSS give away 57 is getting this upgrade very soon. Snow's coming this week anyway, so it's upgrade time.
