Window trim is one big piece that runs from the wing mirror over the door and round the quarterlight - just had both of mine replaced under warranty due to the trim lifting off the seal at the rear of the quarterlight (c. 4-6 mm). As usual no issue, dealer looked at it and agreed warranty within minutes without reference to Jaguar.

I just picked up a 2015 F-Type R in Italian Racing Red with black wheels. Like yours, mine has the silver trim around the windows. Can't imagine why, as it would make much more sense to have black trim. I'd like to try doing what you've done here with blacking out the windows trim, but I'm warry of taking the mirrors off. Would love if you would do a video showing how you did the silver trim along the bottom of the windows. Might give me a bit more confidence to try it myself.

I have a white V6s f type and was thinking of wrapping the side skirts on black gloss vinyl. Can you suggest a good vinyl and tools needed . I’ve looked at a few you tube videos and looks quite straightforward, but any pointers / guidance would be appreciated. Cheers john

@@jonathanreed2245 that sounds like it would look ace! I would recommend using air release wrap. You don’t have to worry so much about air bubbles then. Other than that, just enjoy the process. You’ll get the hang of it quick enough!

05:36 Rear bumper end gaps. On my 2015 V8R the end gaps are equal in width. The “play” is about the same as the right-hand end of yours looks to be.

Nice job on the wrap! The colour is a great choice, it actually matched the brake discs ;) Now the back diffuser, I have a similar issue on mine, but it's the middle part that there is a gap and there are marks where it has been rubbing. Nothing has broken or 'de-clipped' you'd never notice standing a few feet back from the car. My window surrounds are ok I am happy to say and these were spec'd as a black option on build......Go get yourself a tetanus jab!

Thanks for taking the time to comment! The Emira looks stunning, and it’s reasonably priced for what it is. I’d love to take a test drive in one to compare. I could imaging that the slight drop in power is not noticeable due to the lighter weight of the lotus. I think if I was to sell the F Type, it would be a tricky choice as to what to move into Happy driving!

I know what you mean. For some reason Jaguar still have chrome badges with the black pack! It cleans it up no end with everything matching in black, in my opinion. Thanks for the comment!

@@MrGB_UK I’m looking into doing mine in either a gloss black or if it’s available a much darker chrome. So they never peel ? Can you still use a high pressure hose and are washing detergents ok to use, I know on your jag the previous older black strip started to fray or tare in spots a bit

I think you’ll be Ok mate. If you get good quality vinyl with air release, it prevents bubbles and makes it 100x easier. I’m happy to give you a hand if you want

Jaguar did my window seals under warranty. Completely replaced the lot.It seems to be a common fault so maybe check if they can do yours for free!!

I just bought an MY18 V6 and although I spent a long time inspecting it following some of your guidance including, I wasn't aware of the trim issue and I can now feel that it's coming off when you press it. Just came across this. I've been in the process of adding chrome to my Salsa Red F Type. Not a fan of black wheels or black grille surround/ vents. The only area I'm having trouble finding aftermarket parts for is the window surround. I hope I can find a wrap for simulating chrome..

I love the branding of the ‘smelly cleaner’ 🤣 The cleaner is Gtehcniq. It’s great at what it’s supposed to do. Just very smelly. The vinyl is the 3m air release. Thanks for watching and commenting

Hi mate, hope you are well. How difficult was it wrapping the front grill? I went to a shop where they said they would need to take the front bumper off for an additional £150 on top.. which I didn’t really want to pay… do you think it’s a easy job doing it myself and leaving the bumper on!! James

Hi James. Thanks for the comment. I would say it’s almost impossible to do a good job without removing the bumper. The number plate bar and the need to tuck the vinyl behind the grille would mean you need the grille out of the bumper. Probably not what you want to hear, but hopefully helpful!
