Jekyll and Hyde - The story of Edinburgh's Deacon Brodie Brodie - a man with a double life. A real life inspiration for Jekyll and Hyde.
Deacon Brodie was a respected member of Edinburgh society during the day and gambler and womaniser by night. When his expenses became too much, he turned his skills as a locksmith to robbery throughout the city, and would go on to pay the ultimate price.
Follow my adventures as I travel through the landscapes and history of Scotland. I make quick, quirky and (hopefully) funny content about Scotland's past, people and scenery.
I look for the hidden stories, forgotten people and beautiful scenery of Scotland and try to find the funny in the darkness, obscurity and occasional absurdity of our history.

I do like your uploads, honestly! May I politely point out one small but pertinent error? People so often mispronounce the name Jekyll as ‘Jeck-ul’, when the correct Scottish pronunciation is ‘Jee-kul’. I suspect that as with so many things Hollywood may have had a hand in this. The British horticulturist Gertrude Jekyll pronounced her surname ‘correctly’.

I just found this. My Frazier ancestor was also a cabinet maker...and undertaker. He had multiple wives too, but at different times. Robert Louis Stevenson was "cured" near where I grew up.
