The story of Sawney Bean and his cannibal clan, said to have robbed and eaten over a thousand victims - featuring the one and only Craigie Boy.

Sent by Graham the hoof gp. Amazing story! I love stuff like this. I can definitely see this family sampling the finest Scott's it could capture and with the sea right there. So easy to get rid of a lot of the bit and pieces. I am a true crime buff. Every culture has their villains right?

@@zuzuspetals9281 it's been many a year since I studied history in high school but I think I remember hearing that Christopher Columbus was from Spain. . Then there was that whole debacle when a bunch of people came from England to find freedom of religion.... And killed nearly all the native people already living in the country. Is that what you meant???

Lots of fiction about lost races and tribes was written in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. And stories about bandits and criminals before and after that. Not to mention the United States version, with murderous rednecks or other rural people. What role the Bean story played in any of them may never be known.

Daniel DeFoe did seem to enjoy writing about the sensational, as in the Plague Year. Many Scots and Irish people still have an uneasy truce with the English, even members of their own family. Old tensions die hard. Interesting story...Who can say if it is true? Maybe there sre human bones in the caves.😮
