I’m checking this vid because this is my town and I took my mom to see her favorite band on this night for her birthday. Oteil is an old friend of mine in the music biz and he hooked me up with tix and passes. She had a blast and danced from beginning to end. My mom passed away early today. So I’m just reminiscing and I’m so very sad. But I’m also watching this with tears of joy. I hope any of this makes sense. I’ll probably cringe when I read it later. But thank God for music. John doesn’t realize just how good he really is. You’re nothing short of an outright fool if you think Mayer is a bad fit for the Dead. His virtuoso guitar, butter sweet vocals and youthful joy were the shot in the arm the boys needed to enter their senior renaissance phase of playing. This is as good as anything from 1983. @@justaname2422 It's not a cover band whatsoever. You just can't please everyone and there's always gonna be party poopers. If Mayer is good enough for Bob he's good enough for me. There are no numbers but there are 222 comments...I love John Mayer,I just haven’t seeen them since 1995 because it’s bittersweet....Jerry’s death occurred while I was going through a heartbreak. I went to Vegas show with a guy I thought I would end up spending the rest of my life with, but he turned out to be a liar and many women on the string. The rest of summer Alannis Morrisette was screaming” You Oughta Know” And then while preparing a sandwich for a golfer at the 9 hole shack the news of Jerry’s death came on , I dropped everything froze and thought I would faint. The golfers were kind and patent and though they weren’t crying, I could tell they were moved and seeds had been planted inspiring them to listen to more of this bands music and my tears watered the seeds so they will listen for the profound meaning of the lyrics not just the music
