I think the issue with CLB is that it’s the most Drake album he’s made, very predictable, uninteresting at times and too long. If Drake gave us that energy he had on NWTS & IYRTITL and cut the album to 12-14 tracks, it woulda been way better. Imo I think Take Care was his most risky project when it came out years ago. It just became his formulaic sound along with Views

@@jeremy0828 That’s totally fine, but it’ll never contribute to another classic album like Take Care which is the only classic in his catalog. Because as bland as alot of drake’s recent projects are it’s still better than alot of other mainstream artists so if you don’t really know hip hop you’re just looking for some background music while you study or clean your house this works for you...obviously his target audience isn’t hip hop fans...it’s just people that like pop music and listen to Spotify fodder playlists....with songs like 7am on bridle path he shows he can still rap but that’s not what alot of his fans want...disagree it’s different with Eminem because Eminem’s strength is the lyrics and flows so when the lyrics and flows are bad and on top of it the beats aren’t that great either it just doesn’t work but since he’s a mega star alot of people listen to it so out of these people some people will like it....with drake it’s more that he’s turned pop....but he’s not good at doing pop songs and he just rinces and repeats the same formula again and again...you gotta understand there’s alot of people in this world and everyone has different tastes...so as mid as drake’s music is...as long as it sounds better than some amateur project made from someone’s basement...some people will like it...hip hop is the biggest genre now...so alot of people will like it for different reasons then the purists who are looking for something that’s either lyrical, original or throwback

Idk if it's just me, but while I generally agree with most of what they say on most of their reviews, when they're reviewing super-popular records, I feel like I end up disagreeing with them way more. Definitely true for Donda, but for CLB I strongly disagree with Feefo saying this one of Drake's best projects, or Feefo/Rod saying Way2Sexy was good. I think Fantano was spot on saying No Friends In The Industry sounds good sonically, but is just a joke given how many friends in the industry Drake has. Thought Fountains was one of the worse songs on the record, thought Get Along Better was the best Drake singing on the record and a great song, thought Fucking Fans was stupid, The Remorse was forgettable, etc. But I think overall agree with their sentiment, Drake keep doing this if it's getting you streams, but he's definitely not making high quality albums at this point in his career.

I am comfortable saying that this is not a bad album. In fact, this album is remarkably consistent with prior albums that many have considered good. While I don't agree with Feefo, I will say for me this is his best album since 2015 and second best project counting More Life which was a playlist. I had high expectations for Drake to step outside of what he has been doing these recent years and first listen left me with massive disappointment. But running the album back multiple times made a new song get stuck in my head each time. I've been going back to 10 joints on this thing consistently. Not a great album but I would say it's pretty good with some catchy r&b tunes as well as dope rapping cuts. Typical Drake but he really does need to switch it up going forward, or at least go back to the massive r&b/pop hits he was doing earlier in his career like Find Your Love and Hold on, We're Going Home.
