Audience, this talk is entitled Anxiety, did you miss it when you reprimanded his relating to COVID 19. Social media in this country (USA) managed to drive people into something like sharks in a feeding frenzy. Wonderful teaching throughout.

For the first time Ajahn Brahm dissapointed me,all the spritual things that he said had a resonable ,logical point,but about this covid issue he is talking like any other over-religious guy in any country,and the people still keep dying to this day
@MrEdu-cj2vl4 жыл бұрын
I usually like his lectures but in this one he mixed "anxiety of the imaginary catastrophe" with "voluntary endangerment". Escaping anxiety is to be calm, but not careless. His examples of: "meditating on the woods", exposing himself to wild animals; "SARS virus will never hit me" are very poor examples. He did one good example: "not to worry if the cancer will come back". Anyways, I got his main message, which was very good. (I'm not a hater, just democratically exposing my thoughts)

All you people freaking out about him talking about covid and clutching your pearls: seems you learnt nothing from this video about anxiety. Firstly, at the time, Covid really was just considered a flu. Secondly, even if he still thinks so, who cares? Not everyone will think the way you do. You will set yourself up for disappointment if you believe otherwise.

This is dated 2020 which makes me think twice. So many people had died and laughing, singing, certainly opening your mouth in a crowded room has created many extensive super-spreader events in the West. We are now in our fifth lock-down period, after two years as it affects vaccinated people too. This was not probably great advice to given in 2020.
