Notice the rule states “to strike in a combative manner “. Not a fist vs open hand. To me both are DQ’d for fighting. They each struck their opponent in a combative manner

Kudos to white #44 for restraining his teammate and shepherding him away so quickly. If he hadn't been there, white #95 would've landed some big blows then all hell would've broken loose. Look forward to welcoming you guys at the BAFRA convention next month!

In my opinion the open or closed hand does not matter in terms of fighting. If you believe it's a combative action with a hand then it's a DQ. Both should be gone even though I would talk with the kid in the white saying I understand your frustration and your reaction but you cannot fight swing what so ever. Then I would go to 44 on white and let him know that I appreciate you for taking action and getting your player away. Huge respect with that action. I agree that urgency is necessary. As an official you need to get close and try to settle it down

With all the action in the sideline, the wing official is slow to get over and be a presence to potentially stop this before it starts

Wing official....drop your bean bag before going to scrum. Need to know where the run ended.
