My inner critic always tells me that I'm not good enough and I try to remind myself that I am good enough. At this very moment just the way I am now, I am good enough. I wonder if that inner critic is the shadow self and maybe even the anima of a male's psyche? Thank you for discussing this topic and bringing up these issues. It makes me realize that we all really aren't that different from one another and we battle a lot of the same issues. Thank you for discussing these topics. Keep up the good work! 🌈

@GayMenGoingDeeper4 ай бұрын
We hear you-that inner critic can be so tough, especially when it feels like it’s just feeding into sadness. It’s important to remember that your inner critic doesn’t always tell the truth, even though it feels real. You deserve peace and joy, and we're glad you’re here sharing this. Step by step, you can quiet that voice. 💙

nearly exclusively i have considered my inner critic to be antagonistic. it is a wonderful technique to observe and interact with this voice to see its goals and the benefit it is attempting to bring. the mere observation of this voice from a non-judgmental point of view tempers the critic and brings understanding to the totality of my being. thank you, gentlemen. ❤❤

I was well into my golden years before I realized that all the negative voices in my head were coming from things I was told growing up and afterwards, Whether from parents, teachers, nuns, religious leaders, dysfunctional partners, etc. Now that I am widowed and single, and semi-retired, it's easier to tell myself, "that's not coming from me. That's from 'whoever' " and can ignore them.
@GayMenGoingDeeper4 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing that-it’s really powerful to hear how you've been able to recognize where those voices were coming from. It’s so true that we often carry the weight of other people's words for so long without realizing it. It sounds like you’ve found a lot of strength in being able to tell yourself, “That’s not mine,” and let it go. That’s a huge shift, and it’s so inspiring. Wishing you peace and continued freedom from those old, unhelpful voices! 🙏

I can think back to my past, as a teenager and young adult, and had an inner critic who was hard on me when I didn't get better grades in high school and college than I did. I also used to be far more obsessive-compulsive about symmetry and getting things "just right." Nowadays, I'm far more relaxed with myself and my achievements. Not such a stickler as I used to be. I still have a mission-based focus but am much more realistic with how much I can accomplish in a given day.
@GayMenGoingDeeper4 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing that! It’s amazing how we can shift over time, right? It sounds like you've done a lot of inner work to find more balance and self-compassion, and that’s so inspiring. It’s great to hear that you're still mission-focused but with a more realistic, relaxed approach-what a healthy place to be! Here’s to continuing to embrace progress over perfection. 😊🙏

Being Atypical Dissociative Identity Disorder and co-conscious most of my life (unknowingly), I have several internal activities that I do not recognize. There can be three or four unrelated thoughts or conversations happening simultaneously. Self doubt and self hate, plus not fitting in with any group and having little security/stability, makes daily living rough. I appreciate your podcast. Thank you. Blessings.

Thank you so much for sharing that with us. We can’t imagine how overwhelming it must feel to have so much going on internally, especially with the challenges of self-doubt and feeling disconnected. We're so glad the podcast has been a source of support for you-sending you blessings and all the love as you continue your journey. You’re not alone in this. 🙏❤

@@GayMenGoingDeeper yes guy's there is, me not tech savvy enough to understand what it meant? Something say 'hub in London not allowed' or something to that effect, I know I am monitored due to be part of the 'truth' community here in the South of England, we seek freedom and peace for all our fellow Country men and woman, we are no longer a free Nation, we always aim to support one another best we can. So many of us have become a target. For myself it is important to remain peaceful and factual keeping a clean conscience. This may have nothing to do with the problem at hand but I believe in openness, don't want to waist your time? If there is a simple explanation then great, but I have never seen or encountered a message like this before, my connections were fine, all in full function. Thanks guys for your support in offering to help if you are able. Blessings love and peace bro's 💥🙏 Namaste Aiden the carpenter

@@aidenfreedom Thank you for sharing, Aiden! It sounds like the issue might be related to some kind of network restriction or security block, especially if you’re seeing a message about a “hub in London.” Sometimes certain internet connections or locations get blocked due to privacy settings or other filters. It’s not something you’ve done wrong-it could be a tech issue beyond your control. We’ll try to look into it on our end to see if there's a simple fix. No need to worry, and definitely not a waste of time! 🙏 Blessings and peace to you too, Aiden. We appreciate your openness! 😍

I’ve been extremely hard on myself when it comes to damn near everything. My voice, appearance, how I speak, how I walk, my performance and progress in the gym ect ! I often think, if I looked “perfect” and had every “box” checked, would I still criticize myself 🤔 Matt, definitely check out a few Iyanla Vanzant episodes on KZbin. She does an exceptional job in making people see the b.s and help them “clean up” the b.s. in their lives.

Thank you so much for sharing that. It’s tough when we feel like we need to have every box checked or hit some idea of “perfect,” but we totally get where you're coming from. It's like we can be our own worst critics, right? We think the real question is, what if we’re already enough just as we are? 😊 We’ll definitely check out Iyanla Vanzant-you’ve got us curious! Sounds like some powerful insights could help shake off some of that self-criticism. Appreciate the recommendation!🥰
