Yo, I got a shoutout on a Dean Lamb video! I believe the LP had nasty amber knobs, and you eventually sold it to Dallas for one of his wood shop class projects. I have received a total of 2 free beers at Archspire shows by mentioning I sold you the first guitar you ever owned. Can't believe Claine doesn't remember me, I was my most majestic and elegant self. Not at all mildly inebriated and questionably coherent.

Cool guitars. I think I'd struggle to ever put money down on a Kiesel just because of the way Jeff treats his customers. The time he did a Facebook live from his factory floor to call one of his customers a "fucking idiot" springs to mind.
@acidpancakes4202 ай бұрын
Yeah same Jeff Kiesel is a terrible person and there “rules” on return and all that etc is super whack especially because anything that actually makes it custom or stand out make it so that if anything wrong with it to bad they won’t touch it cause you chose those extras on YOUR “custom” it’s also like a “half custom” I would consider it a real custom active having bought customs and talked to many builders there is soooooooo many better choices and ones that actually hold resell value too

The 1000's with the mega overkill binding were a product of their time, nothing says 00's metalcore like one. That said, they've only JUST pulled the last of them from the range in 2024, so they lasted (and thus sold) for quite a while. And you know what? I still love 'em.

And RG550 you accidentally damaged - my first you know good electric guitar was RG550, it was a birthday gift from my parents at my 15, now I'm 34 and still play it from time to time, changed pickups (went for BKP Warpig in bridge and Lace Drop'n'Gain for neck), one of the most comfortable guitars I've ever played

I have a kramer focus 6000 in neptune green I bought in 2015. I sold it to guitar center for rent cash, then 2 years later bought back from the same guitar center after someone bought it and returned it after painting the pickups black. Thing plays great. Layla kent plays a sick kramer ml/explorer type that sounds killer too

The first guitar I ever bought myself was also an Epiphone LP Special. Used it across 3 bands back in the late 90’s. Still have it too. I also owned two basses. My first was a cheap 4 string Ibañez GIO. And the second was a 5 string Ibanez Ergodyne (late 90’s. Made by Hoshino Gakki in Japan). I started learning on a Decca 12 string acoustic that was my grandmothers. (I got it when she passed in the 90’s) then moved to a cheap, no name strat that had bad frets and extremely high action. I was like 12 so it was still cool to me. I still have both basses but lost that no name guitar ages ago. I also have a Schecter C-7 DELUXE, Agile 8 and just recently a beautiful LTD MH 400 NT. All pretty inexpensive. But all play great.

My first guitar was a blue Peavey kids guitar that my dad got me when I was about 6 years old. But my first full size guitar was a cherry sunburst Washburn maverick series. My dad bought it for me at a pawn shop somewhere around 2000 when I was about 10. To this day I absolutely love the cherry sunburst color on it, very beautiful in my opinion.

I had those Ibanez guitars from the C tier. The Grg 170 I think was called was my first guitar ( I started with my sister’s Yamaha acoustic that I still have) , I loved it not because it was great but because I had an electric that I could play heavy riffs on it. I had difficulty with the tremolo and tuning but I figured it out when I’ve put the third spring and 10’s for standard tuning and found the position of the springs bar by unscrew it a bit. Later on it fell and broke at one of the two posts that hold the floating bridge so it was unplayable. With the whole hustle to make the floating bridge work and the way the screws in the cavity worked and the ease it broke, I dreamed about a guitar with a sturdier tremolo with ball bearings and a nut that you can turn to change the tension. So when I first played a S series in a guitar store I was shocked to see my dreams tremolo in an actual guitar , I liked the sound also of that 6 string S series. So I later bought the 7 string online and I hated it, so I sold it some months later

I had a 2228. When freshly setup, it sounded glorious from the 7th string down. I also threw some rautia raw-dog pickups in it (kind of a lundgren alternative) that kicked it up a few notches. The neck, the action, mwah, superb. The 8th string...well, found out that I couldn't fit anything larger than a 0.70. The saddle arrangement on the 8th string ended up collapsing, and after repairing it...started to fall out of love with it for the wildly loose feel on the low string. In hindsight I could have just drilled it out and stuck a 0.74-0.80 in it. Meh. Miss those pickups, though. They were fucking beast mode. The winder retired a few years ago now. I only heard of him through some proto-Ola playthrough videos (framus cobra playthrough 2 and engl powerball i playthrough).

9:14 Those basses are actually decently comfortable to play sitting but ugly as hell. My dad had (actually still has) a steinberger spirit bass just like it. That little lump at the bottom is like a little kickstand that folds out, and it stops at about a 45ish degree angle to the right in the picture. When it's folded out, it sits on your thigh like any normal shaped guitar would. It was a little difficult to source strings for them though. Pretty sure it still is. They were pretty niche last I knew and while getting a set of double ball ended strings is easy enough, the gauges are super limited so you can't play around with too many different tunings. I actually learned to play bass on that thing and it sounded/played great. Kind of miss it. Might ask my dad if he's willing to sell his to me.
