Im not sure about the big guns never tire thing. If it can shoot out of combat when it is your shooting phase, why would you suddenly not be able to do the exact same thing just because its not your shooting phase????

​@whitemiasma5288 in the rules commentary, it specifies that Overwatch disallowed all other rules that would be considered to be "in your shooting phase" while using overwatch. It's why a transport can't use Firing Deck while overwatching. It's stupid, and unintuitive, but that's GW for you.

@@Tavenknaughtlin1 it is stupid and unintuitive; it is also far beyond ridiculous that anyone should need to use new rules, FAQs (is if the frequently asked questions are so few as they seeming think - I laugh at this), rules commentary, popular opinion, peer-phase-locking, prior knowledge and the rulings of various TOs to properly play this game. I don't play it, but have played Magic The Gathering, and that system does work and for our sakes, a system like that could well enough be implemented in this game and work. I would even wager a large amount that you - all by yourself, could design such a thing in perhaps a week. What is GW's major malfunctioning here? it's been decades!! But, friend, whiles you are here: could you Overwatch a unit with a Tyranofex's Acid Spray, if the Tyranofex is in engagement range with something already? Could you Overwatch a unit with a Monster or Vehicle, at the end of its charge move; if it charged that Monster of Vehicle? Could you Overwatch a unit at the end of its charge move, with a unit with pistol weapons?

Hello ! It feel to me wrong to think that BIG GUNS NEVER TIRE is "a Rule". In a way is more a setion title, to split the informations. It has nearly the same layout as "invulnerable save" p22 or "Leadership Test" p38. I feel this is a core beaviour, to not create a section vehicle like ther was in some old editions.

Why roll for wounds after rolling 6’s to hit in overwatch? Deathguard went first so you always count as sitting still for that turn. IIRC the rule for combined regiment is worded to be based on the battle round so when guard go second they always lethal on overwatch.

Guard only get Lethals on their turn because the condition “Remained Stationary” can be determined only on your turn.

Is Mordian using catachan purely for their scout ability? i thought that Kriegers were the meta guardman this edition

Catachans are better for Chimeras i.e. mech guard. And yes that's partially because of Scout and partially because they are the cheapest (since your 10 man squads won't do much damage, the extra mobility and cheap OC is far superior to Kriegers special weapons and regen in a mech guard list).

@@magicalzonkey So it looks like the phrase “When using out-of-phase rules to perform an action as if it were one of your phases, you cannot use any other rules that are normally triggered in that phase.” Applies to the “Big Guns Never Tire” rule, since it specifically states in the BGNT rule that it is only in the shooting phase. Very strange rule for sure but when you put together everything it makes sense, still hate that I have to hire a private detective to find these rules though.

Yeah, the commentator (and chat presumably) are correct. You can't do Officer's Salute while in engagement range cause Big Guns Never Tire only works in your own shooting phase (can't overwatch out of combat either).

@@rjscorpion8892 you're asking why GW wouldn't make something clearer? They do this all the time sadly, lots of ambiguous abilities and rules knocking about. A regular tournament player really should know the tank commander can't shoot on death when in engagement range though.
