One way I got my deathhawk to be nice and even was to actually go to a barber and get it cut. Having a professional put the lines in the first time makes it super easy to then follow week after week. Also agree on the music or TV thing. I shave the sides of my head twice a week (I use a razor) and I always have Netflix on in the background.

Yes, I've heard of people going in to have it done the first time so that they get the lines perfect right away! Very smart, in my opinion.

I recommend wearing flip flops or shower shoes when working with clippers just to keep from getting hair splinters in your feet. Trust me, they hurt like a bi$ch, I know, I'm licensed 😉

I think your first death hawk video was the first video i saw by you and then I watched a few of your dread installations and I was hooked. I'm so happy you've uploaded this tutorial because I really want to get a death hawk at some point. I already have the right side of my head shaved and I want to shave the left side but I'm worried about a few things. Hopefully this will help when I actually come to do it because at the moment, I get my mum to shave my head whenever it is starting to get a bit long and I'm still in school and they have certain rules about what you're allowed to do with your hair. I think we're allowed to have it any style we want (hopefully including a death hawk or Mohawk) as long as we don't dye it any unnatural colours. I also want to learn how to shave my head myself, rather than always getting my mum to do it because that would be really helpful.

I love your hair style, and I love the dreads you put in. I've always wanted to have dreads, but never really wanted to take that commitment of dreading my own hair. When I found your video randomly of you doing your princess synthetic hair dreads I was just so inspired. I love doing wild random things with my hair. So I went ahead and did a side shave to start off. granted I didn't really use a buzz cutter. I actually used scissors, and had my roommate hold up a mirror when I did the back of my head. I didn't even have a comb, I just used a hair brush and my fingers to nit pick the stray hairs, I'm currently growing it back out. I had my side shave hair length not too long. I'd say a size 4 guard, or a half inch. (that's the width of my fingers lol) I literally laid my fingers alongside my head and just kept trimming till it was all even and perfect (OCD is a bitch). So I want to say thank you so much. I loved my side shave, and its so hard now to decide if I want to keep letting it grow out or if I want to have a death hawk. it drives my crazy cause one day I'm like "I want to do the death hawk" and the next day I'm like "naah" I think what it might be is that I'm waiting for my princess dreads to come in (I fell in love with those dreads on your video and I have had a lady boner for them ever since.) So thank you for the inspiration, and if you'd like ill even record a video of me dying my hair, then doing the deathhawk, and also putting in those dreads. And of course if I do happen to put up that video I will put in my description the link (like you did) to the dreads, and i'll also put you down for my inspiration, because you were the one who helped inspire me.

I haven't made my final decision and I'm scared of how it's gonna look in the regrowth stage. Would probably have to cut my hair short. Tip: One can use the shower room to shave/cut their hair, helps to keep the stuff clean plus you can just wash it off immediately. One more thing - please, don't slice your neck with scissors :D Ok nevermind the last one.

Another thing that can help if your hair is shorter and has more layers is having your hair be wet or damp! it helps with sectioning off the hair and keeps it from falling out of the sections!!

This is what I did when shaving my reallyyy long mohawk. 1. New clippers 2. Buy mannequin head 3. Shave the sides of mannequin head. 4. Then practice using two mirrors and moving around with the clippers on the mannequin head how you would your own head. 5. Finally, practice it until your really confident and shave your own. #yolo

I've dyed her hair and helped her rinse it in the shower by having to hold her up so she didn't dye her body. Being topless while shaving my hair would be the least of my worries. I just tend to let the hairs grow out until they get annoying, then cut them. I've been shaving since July, and I've already grown tired of it. I, personally am not a fan of the extremely short shave, but looks great on you!

Superkaitiekatt see, as angry as they get, they can't make you undo it. If they don't allow your makeup they can make you wash it off, but they can't make you uncut your hair. not necessarily a "do it anyway" but something to remember. Maybe talk to them about it, like "hey, I really want to get a new haircut and it's kinda extreme, am I going to get in trouble if I do?"
