Having one great player isn’t enough you need others who are even remotely close to Palmers level and from what I’ve seen they aren’t you’ve won a few games against teams who will likely finish mid table and Wolves will probably finish even lower and you drew with Palace. Just wait till you play the other teams you’ll have to compete with before you actually judge what level you are at and so far you’ve lost to one of those teams. Also don’t write off Villa who have just as much if not more of a chance than Chelsea.

The argument that one player is better than another due to the number of trophies they’ve won is absolute bollocks. That relates to how good a team is, personal honours and stats are the only guide to player ability.

You can’t divorce the two. To act like it’s completely separate doesn’t make any sense. When a player contributes to a league win it counts for something. Imo more than personal stats.

@@jonathanmarkham1998 I disagree. Player A making a contribution that wins a title doesn’t mean that player B who’s pushed a team to the top six isn’t as good. The league position and medals etc. depends on the team that you’re in. Kane hasn’t won anything but has been one of the best number 9’s in the world for years. Other players of lesser ability have many medals.

@@psiphon2808 Agree but the difference is Harry Kane’s sheer amount of goals is incredible compared to Palmer’s. Of course Palmer has only been around for one year as opposed to Kane’s ten in the Premier League, and at the current rate Palmer will be right up there. Still too early to say yet though imo. Not sure where that line is, but Kane largely defeats the point of a lack of trophies through the sheer consistency over a long time span as far as I see it.

George Best was one of the best players to ever wear a pair of boots but was never going to win anything with Northern Ireland no matter how well he played because of the rest of the team.
