If you're struggling to catch summer bass, don't be afraid to tie on the trusty stick bait. I put the 6th sense clout to work again. KZbinrs are scared to show the days where only little fish are caught. I think it helps folks watching realize that these days happen to EVERYONE! Thanks for watching feeshin friends!

Thank you so much for the gill removal demo...it really messes up a great day when you gut-hook and ultimately kill a fish, I hate when that happens. Starting vacation today, plan on getting out a LOT over the next week or so!

I used this method today to remove a hook that was attached to 2 feet of line on a fish I caught today! Thanx Debo! We saved a fish today! I only lip hooked him, but used this method to get a EWG hook that was in his gullet out! Very gratifying to watch him swim away😎

Every time you've tried to explain the Gill Plate Trick I could never totally see it in my head. Now I totally see it and I'm so glad I did. This has been a rough summer and I hate to go all day catch one fish and then lose him because I can't get the hook out of his gullet. From here on out, I hoping to send a healthy fish back in the water. Thanks.

Just wanted to circle back around and thank you again for sharing the gill hook removal. I had to use it earlier this evening for the first time and it helped me save a bass I thought for sure was a goner. It was already bleeding pretty bad when I pulled it out of the water but once I got the hook out and rinsed him off a bit he took off like nothing had happened. It had been a while since watching this video so I fumbled around with the technique but eventually figured it out. Once I got the proper angle the hook just seemed to magically pop out. I appreciate you helping me be able to keep fish like this alive.

Gave my Choppo some action early this morning. 4 bass on the The Choppo, then 8am struck and it went to the Swimjig and no luck. Then I Free rigged a Baby D Bomb in Hillbilly Magic color with a orange dot on it's head & chartreuse the tips of the flaps then a small red tip on the flaps. That was the juice I needed to land 2 good females and 5 males. Good morning & I was done by 9:45

Appreciate the gill hook removal demo! Fortunately I haven't been in a situation to need it this year (knock on wood) but there were some gut hooked fish last year that I wish I could have saved. I'm grateful to have that technique in my back pocket now for when I'll inevitably need it. And keep the dink catch-a-thons coming. Doesn't bother me one bit, just makes your videos more relatable because that's real fishing for a lot of us bank anglers. This is exactly how my fishing has been going the past couple weeks, a few pounders here and there but mostly babies. I've had a few so small that just setting the hook launched them out of the water.

A week or so ago you did a gill removal on a fish, I must have watched it 10 times. Then it came in handy a day or two later. Had a one swallow a ned whole. Got it to spit the part of it and was able to slide it out the gill. Cut the line and no blood spilled. That smallie and I thank you.

I don't mind catching a few dinks along the way to the next big bite. But I don't like to specifically target small bass. I catch enough dinks on big bass baits. LOL. However, when I'm in a place that I know there are only small bass, I'll target them with smaller lures like a hellgrammite or Rooster Tail on a lighter combo so it's more fun.

Better than skunkin'- any day. I zeroed this morning, only one bite- and it was just a bump and run. I'm fishing current which makes it very difficult to use the techniques I generally use when they stop biting good- ned rig, wacky rig, etc.- hard to throw in current. Especially when you're fishing off the bank- you can't get the right angles.

You could always upsize in weight
@stoneysdead689
@stoneysdead689 3 жыл бұрын
@@440-fishermandrock8 I tried that but there's tons of snags and I just kept breaking stuff off. plus, most of these techniques are very weight sensitive imo, you start putting much weight on a wacky rig and it loses that slow, shimmy fall that makes it work. Ned rigs are a little more forgiving but, they get snagged so much using heavier weights- just not efficient in this place, too much wood around. Heavier shaky heads and a finesse Carolina rig works pretty well but you have to find an angle that allows you to work them with the current instead of across it- even at an angle the current is too much. Best luck I've had with the is just pitching them into the current breaks along the banks but, you snag up a lot and when the fish bite they're right at your feet so setting the hook is awkward.
