Thanks for showing the real stuff, Debo! I appreciate that you don't just edit out all of the snags, broken lines, dinks, missed fish, etc. It makes me feel much better when I have a "real", "normal", unedited day! (That is, every time!)

“Screw it I’m going straight braid” haha a guy can only retie so many leader knots before he loses his cool.
@DavidBronstein19613 жыл бұрын
I’ve gone to straight braid in stained water and not lost any bites, a lot easier than tying leaders and eliminates another weak point (line to leader knot).

Hey Debo..! Just joined your channel a couple of weeks ago and I’m devouring your vids. It’s refreshing to find cool and relaxed dudes like yourself sharing all this pond knowledge and everyday mishaps with us. I speak for myself, but I think there’s a lot of grateful people that enjoy learning from grounded guys like you the everyday stuff that other channels won’t share. Greetings from México.

You’ve gained a subscriber! I appreciate you sharing an actual fishing trip. Loosing lures and snagging hooks are my life story. A lot of KZbinrs don’t show the irritating and sad side of fishing. I had a bad day yesterday trying to fish and lost jigs and hooks on grass and trees, and they never touched the water, the wind was blowing them back 😑 the life of a bank fisherman. Looking forward to more great videos from you! 🤗

This works so well. I've stated doing this as well. Saw it on flukes vid too. That worm won't tear off. You can pretty much bet on that.

The horizontal hook placement where the hook goes across the Senko instead of in the same direction of the Senko is what intrigues. I’ve seen Debo do that double ring crossed over and sticking the hook in the cross to get the same effect and I tried it and can’t manage it. Seems to be more of a PITA than it’s worth. So the shrink wrap has been ordered from Amazon. Can’t wait to try it. Also: those wacky jigs he uses? See those missed fish? Not surprised. My hookup ratio with them is meh. And they do get snagged a lot, like Debo saw. Been using Gammy weedless wacky, not bad at all. But this summer actually have been having more luck t-rigging senkos with a 1/16 oz weight (screw-in, like Mr. Martin does it) and throwing it into weed pockets. Can fish much more water, deeper into cover where the feesh have been hiding, at least in my lakes. But when they are biting so close to shore like Debo had, yup, wacky is the way to go!
@JesseG0853 жыл бұрын
@@DavidBronstein1961 Watch Flukemaster's video on wacky rigs. He fishes mostly from a boat or kayak but also has a different take on wacky rigs than Debo. I think everyone should watch both of their videos and figure out what's best for them.
@DavidBronstein19613 жыл бұрын
@@JesseG085 will do. And as an aside for anyone who disses Senkos, watch latest Glen Blanchard tournament vid. He crushed a few fish on frogs but when the bite slowed, out came the Senko (and also a drop shot) to get his limit and also I think a few culls.

When out Wednesday night, Lee County, Southeast Iowa lake. Going for some big gills. Lost 3 hooks and line on three large gills. They could have been largemouth, but the way they bit, I think gills. Broke off each one and had to retie. Only out for about two and one half hours. Still worth the time and the effort, caught ten gills and one nice largemouth. Five of the gills were over nine inches and one was a really nice ten incher. Keep up the good work and have a great day.

Hey debo I use Zoom Zlinky for wacky rigs, they have awesome action but very soft. I found when you do your double O ring trick on the worm itself, it rips into the worm a tiny bit, then basically starts ripping it in half as you cast and retrieve it. So I learned to crisscross the rings with the hook on the skinnier section of the wacky tool and then slide it up onto the worm. So easy!

I'm amazed how you have so much bank to fish. I'm in NE Pennsylvania and if I want an area to fish I have to bring a machete to clear that area. Then you have to deal with poison ivy. Not always joyous and get snagged a lot, but I still do it.

I watch a lot of Bass fishing videos and I think this is the first one I've seen where snags were included. I'm limited to fishing the lake behind the apartments I live in. The lake is loaded with Large Mouth and also snags. The Bass are very hard to catch, very hard to get them to even bite on anything. Most of the time I just feed the lake all of my lures, very frustrating.

What’s is your line up when using stick baits : like Carolina, Texas, wacky, and so on (top 3). Heck this year as the water level was getting low , I was using the Wacky with TWO O-rings but on a senko and after 2 fish ended up breaking right by the O-rings , but it was still good enough to mod what’s left to a Ned rig and poof more fish 😁. And I use Berkeley fire line crystal so I can line watch .

Dang bubba. I know you don't like the wacky rig with the weed guard on them but it might of saved ya on this trip. The vmc wacky rigs with weed guard aren't bad at all. Gotta treat it like a top water bite tho. Let em take it a second longer and set the hook like any worm hook to compensate for that weed guard. I go 1o or 2o at the biggest with those.
