Not to mention the fact that Solaris gets desperate as the fight reaches it's climax, spamming attacks to keep them away [also, Solaris' attacks remain even if you switch to another character, so it's fair to assume those are temporally omnipresent like Solaris, and they are casually able to be dodged by the player giving Shadow, Silver and Sonic the ability to react to attacks that are temporally omnipresent. (Speed is INSANE)] Not to mention, Solaris gets overcame by Secret Rings, that's how powerful Sonic characters are, that by the very next game they pretty much gain insane powers, even the Egg Dragoon from Unleashed would STOMP Solaris.

Something people don’t understand is… gameplay mechanics don’t translate or represent nearly anything about a character. Sonic is FAR faster than you can reasonably play, and the same goes for his strength and durability feats. And don’t get me started on Super Sonic, where we’ve been shown how unbelievably OP he is in comparison to gameplay counterpart. Only TWICE in the entire series has Sonic had the Chaos Emeralds ripped out of him: Sonic 3 (which is now outdated when power scaling Super Sonic) and the opening cutscene of Sonic Unleashed. Unleashed is growing outdated in power scaling with Frontiers. While Frontiers’s Final Horizon update has a cutscene of Sonic having the Emeralds ripped outta him, it IS possible to avoid that cutscene legitimately by being good, making it a non-canon cutscene unless stated otherwise by Sonic team or Ian Flynn. And besides, Base Sonic still is super OP by Frontiers and absolutely cooks Mario like a steak.

He could just have talked about when Knuckles knocked the emeralds out of Sonic, about when Super Sonic passed out from exhaustion after defeating Dark Gaia, or shown the cutscenes from Frontiers of which he was damaged to the point of going back to his base form, something that happens at least two times in story lol

All of which are highly flawed. Knuckles has a connection to the Emeralds, being an Echidna and the guardian of the Master Emerald. Heck, Angel Island being the home of the Master Emerald, which can nullify the emeralds, it could even be because of that. Sonic passing out from exhaustion doesn't mean that Super Sonic isn't invincible. He just had a ton of energy drained from him and his Werehog form forceably removed from him. He was shown to already be near the point of exhaustion before turning Super. As for Frontiers, that actually is true. For the first time, Super Sonic was knocked out of his form. But the Emeralds and his rings still protected him and he could turn back into Super Sonic. Super Sonic really only has two times it was damaged: Solaris, a higher dimensional, potentially above dimensions as a whole, being, and The End, which scales above Solaris. Yeah, Frontiers showed us the first time Super Sonic could be killed... But then Frontiers also gave us a new form of Super Sonic that doesn't have that problem. But yeah, it does highlight a problem with the VS community: taking invincibility as invincibility. Mario's invincibility has never been shown to take hits from someone as strong as Super Sonic, so it wouldn't work as a counter

One that makes sense, sure, but the only official information we have on the matter is that Knuckles performed a cheap shot. Plus at the time he hardly had any special ability related to the emeralds, and the idea of them neutralizing the Chaos Emerald wasn't even considered yet. Secondly, you said "he was already at the point of exhaustion before turning Super", doesn't Super Sonic give him a rush that essentially nullifies fatigue? If it doesn't, and he was still tired, then this means he can be beat by exhaustion, therefore he wouldn't really be invincible. Either way that guy's video came before Final Horizon, so I wasn't really taking Super Sonic 2 into account(although using the full power of cyber corruption was shown to actually leave Super Sonic damaged afterwards so with that we have another example), I was mostly considering the moments Super Sonic arrived at each island and was shot down by the island's security lasering him. Also, rings are a complicated subject as there arguments for them not being canon(?) which is odd since we see them in Final Horizon. Third, where do you get the idea that The End scales above Solaris? He really didn't do anything as impressive as what Solaris did. If anything, they're near the same level. Also, when exactly did Solaris manage to hurt Super Sonic? Fourth, well Super Sonic 2 doesn't really stop Sonic from being killed since, like you said before, Sonic was actually knocked out of that form but managed to turn back right after. And like I said, the full power of cyber corruption left him hurt and unconscious afterward. That being said, it IS possible to kill Sonic even with that power. That is not to say it's an easy task, though. Plus, Hyper Sonic would probably be even more powerful, and wouldn't be as harmful for Sonic to use. And finally, yeah, this invincibility thing is a complicated thing to deal with. But at the same time, it's not like we can know the limit to how much punishment they can take. However, as far as I know, all of the power-ups Mario has that can give him invincibility are temporary. Super Sonic isn't, at least not beyond game mechanics. So it wouldn't really work against him either way.

Every time I hear Mario fans talk about the feats that Mario has done, they are always exaggerating a bit and I know this because I played through those games. The difference between both franchises is that Sonic games are more serious and tend to have more solid foundations for power scaling (kinda like anime). But Mario games are usually wacky worlds with many things that usually aren't explained like magic or the power ups, and when something happens, it can only be taken literally by face value (such as the bullet Bill/projectile debate). Not to mention that the Mario guy fumbled a lot of his arguments and kept repeating himself too much which makes conversations more annoying to listen to.

Though personally, with how vast Mario's arsenal is compared to Sonic's (I'm referring only to items), you can argue Mario in base scaling to Super Sonic. While they are recognized by official media and staff statements to be alternate dimensions TO the games, the Sonic’s in both are completely different characters, so any feats from their respective series that aren’t primarily preformed in the games can’t be used. A lot of these feats are just gassing up characters’ statements and not their feats. Yes, Dark Gaia is evil incarnate, but you probably should have mentioned it’s actual feats like being able to forge barriers capable of enduring a post 06/SATSR Super Sonic, or it’s very presence could sap the luster from the Emeralds. Shadow doesn’t need his air shoes to go fast, there’s even scenes that depict Shadow running without skating. I didn’t watch the full video yet but I’m gonna talk about Solaris so basically Solaris is god. He’s god. He threatens the whole entire sonic cosmology (the multiverse/every living being in every timeline) and super sonic was stated to be stronger than him but he couldn’t kill an omnipotent being so that’s why he went to the past and basically make the events of the game never happen

I’m not gonna argue who wins because I don’t know enough about either character, but consider this; Sonic may be able to run incredibly fast, but can he fight at those speeds? If he could, I doubt he would ever have any trouble against Eggman; a normal human.
