Just got this a few hours ago and love it. Sadly, I live near a busy road; it is what it is.

I got my sister one, she absolutely loves it. Most ghibli movies have free kalimba transcriptions online and those are always fun and gorgeous to play, i highly recommend those to start 😁

How is your kalimba so loud? This is the most glorious and pronounced reverb I’ve ever heard from one 🥹

The microphone was quite close and there's some signal processing to fix some issues I was having: I live near a busy road, so there's truck vibrations, and you can hear a car accelerating at 0:13 which I wasn't able to take out. Also, my room isn't acoustically treated, so there's a touch of corrective processes like EQ and noise reduction to try to better isolate the kalimba in my not-ideal recording situation. 🙃 The added reverb was to add stereo information to the final audio, as I only used one mic. However, while the original recording has no perceivable reverb because I'm recording in a small room, the sustain from the instrument itself is really excellent; I was very surprised.

Hmm, that's a tougher one. This Kalimba is in C Major and Minstrels is in G major; I'd have to somewhat awkwardly transpose it, probably into E minor... So, maybe... No promises 😂
