I absolutely love my Shirei deck. It has over the years morphed into a mono-black prison deck and can be totally brutal.

oh and i can recommend the fume spiiter: its a 1 black 1/1 that sacrifices it self to put a -1/-1 counter on target creature... can help to kill your own stuff for shireis trigger and it lowers the power of you bigger creatures so they come back ;)

glad you mentioned this! mine has a sub theme of -/- just to lower the big boys down to come back! she only care about whats listed on the creature at the time of death not the printed value! I dont see many ppl ever bringing this up.

Very cool! I think it would benefit from having a bit more protection for the commander because the deck relies on them so much

Soldevi adnate is such a good card I've won off of 2 lands with that card in an ultrabudget deck before.

Shirei seems like a very underrated commander. It's been on my mind for a few years now. I think one-on-one games can be tough with a commander like this (same with Yeva in green). As you said, every turn is your turn. So that's 2 turns to your fiancee's 1. It's going to be boring and frustrating.

He's done that before with another commander, and he likes to do something different when possible. Also, the cost of apostles adds up, and when you're building (and keeping) a deck for every commander ever, you have to take the budget into consideration.
