@@dallasmay4031 even if he did. Bullets arent magic. People contribute a lot more power to pistol calibers than what they actually contain. If you have a rifle or shotgun with slugs maybe. But even with those the moment the round hits that lock its going to shatter into dozens of supersonic pieces of shrapnel that can pass through flesh like a hot knife through butter. Odds are you'll kill yourself by nicking an artery. This concept is why modern steel plate armor will often times (if youre going through a good company) have a rubber coating on It to try to prevent a lot of the bullet fragment shrapnel from shooting straight up into your neck which is a very common issue with metal plates. So with all that said, moral of the story is youre not breaking through most locks like movies try to show with a pistol and even with a rifle youre going to kill yourself by trying

I think I know how that Death Collar worked. The shotgun shells looked to me like they were being held in place by short metal tubes. So in effect they actually were in shotgun barrels. Think of them as sawed off shotguns that had been sawed off to the length of a shotgun shell. Theoretically that should focus the shotgun blasts towards the doctors head.
@sargon60004 жыл бұрын
The only way shotgun shells would be lethal in that trap is when the shotgun shells explode, the buckshot (or slug) from the shells to sever her neck and cause her to bleed to death... except that's not what happened in the film.

Saw 3 is my absolute favorite after the first one. The main story is super compelling and Amanda subplot making the tests impossible to survive is so cool. Just a tidbit.. the movie is shot in a slaughterhouse/meatpacking facility, or just set in a fake one. The frozen witness scene is really what they do to hogs after they are gutted and before they are processed. The water makes them freeze faster. It's called spray chill or quick chill and it's horrifying to anyone that's worked in one of these places as you know that's how quick you would be frozen. Also they grind up hogs unsuitable for consumption in a grinder like that but it's more like augers meshing together instead of spinning saw blades, but ya.. horrifying

@SchazmenRassir4 жыл бұрын
While the torture porn is... something that doesn't even need to be here, it'd be fine if there was solid writing and ideas behind it. Someone should've talked to the writers about the traps, like the shotgun collar. Then again... Could it be hinted as a result of Amanda's newbie status to the traps?
@mw96884 жыл бұрын
Nah....because the collar ended up working to extreme effectiveness. Hitting a shell without a barrel MIGHT wound or kill a squirrel but it won’t explode a human skull. Even a few of them. Worst to happen is some scarring and maybe she’d lose an eye.... but it’s not getting through the skull to that effect. Heck sometimes all a shotgun shell will do is explode enough to split the plastic on the sides and yet leave all the shot still within the shell. She most likely would’ve just been a but cut up and had some slight hearing damage. It was just lazy writing.

As the series progressed and Jigsaw's traps got more and more self-mutilation in them, I start to wonder how even if the subjects successfully passed their test as intended, wouldn't they probably die from their wounds afterwards? What's impressive is that every trap in the Franchise is actually real and can technically do what it is designed to in the films. They're not fully assembled so keep prevent that, but it's impressive and somewhat scary.
@morphman864 жыл бұрын
Eh... kinda. They can sortof operate mechanically, to some degree. They have motion. But the Angel of Death is nowhere near powerful enough to rip the ribs out of the body, the Chains of Death would not even be able to tear the skin and the Shotgun Collar has no way of actually triggering it, even if it was feasible, due to the lack of electrical components. They needed the motion for all the traps, so they could, you know, move them. It's far easier to time it if they can remotely trigger a smooth, single motion from a single place rather than moving each piece separately, and it's both cheaper and looks better to do the actual machinery than to CGI it. So yeah, the machines move, but they do not "work".
