I’m not sure if you’re aware but u can send your empty tubes of mascara (specifically the wands) to an organization called Appalachian Wildlife Refuge, Wands for Wildlife they sanitize them and use them to care for the animals (wound care, brushing, washing off oils etc)

I love that you’re donating items that are products you recommend and use yourself. I just started using the Cerave AM moisturizer (slowly switching over to fragrance free products and I’m really noticing a difference!) and I find it doesn’t leave a cast and doesn’t pill under my makeup! For reference, I put a sunscreen on top and then a makeup primer, so maybe that helps.

Omg this is amazing! There was a donation group that mailed out skin care and hygiene products to deployed female soldiers which I recieved a box once from. This is making me teary eyed. My items might not have came directly from you but now I have someone to thank. Thank you so much Dr Dray.

Thank you for donating. I used to live at a maternity home here in the bay area. It was definitely a huge blessing in my life. U r able to live there up to 2 years post and after partum till your child is 1. I live thered for roughly a over a year. This it's pretty close to home. I know homeless/woman in recovery get a bad rep but living in that womans shelter I was able to go to school for a year and now I am working as a dental assistant. I still have my struggles mostly to do with how expensive it is to live here. Anywho.. Thank you for those shelters and everyone who donates to them or donates to organizations. With out ppl like you It would of been alot harder to get essential stuff for me but most importantly my daughter. (P.s it's a tax write off too that's why alot of ppl came to the shelter and did it personally.( Lol. ) I'm done with my novel.

OMG, maybe it's because I'm in Canada, but women in shelters/homes here are considered heros, and a lot of their stories end happy, like yous. 💪❤ I love to provide makeup, skincare and other beauty related items for the women in my local shelters because they either rarely get those type of items, or when they do they are from the dollar store and/or expired. In Canada, we can only donate brand new beauty, skincare and toiletries, and it's not tax deductible, so I hope one day we can get an organization like Project Beauty Share here. I decided to stop exchanging Christmas gifts with my family and instead, buy these types of items during the sales so It's more affordable. I also include high end makeup and skincare from my beauty subscription boxes.

I never thought that any type of personal care products could be donated once I’ve tried it. I’m so glad to learn about this. It’s unavoidable to try something and find it doesn’t work out. Sometimes I take things into work and put them on the “round table.” Anything we put on this table is fair game. I’m going to call my local women’s shelter next time to see if I can take them there. I have my own methods to donate, I share with friends and family if I have any lefts some times I make baggies of goodies pass them out in the streets to women or men, giving them out at my church or other churches that help women, men or children, there is always a way to help someone else

Hi Dr Dray! I tried the Verdio UV Moisture Gel and I find it amazing. It is alcohol-free for my sensitive skin, fragrance-free. It has some of the latest chemical filters, scutellaria root extract and green tea among other things. I really love the Canmake Mermaid UV gel but this one is superior in my opinion. Just sharing my thought if you want to try it! Have a nice day!

This was great, Doc! The Aveeno fragrance-free products have been wonderful additions here. The colloidal oatmeal is so soothing! Hope you recommend them to any menopausal patients as they are game-changers. I won't give up my HadaLabo or my CeraVe but I'm really enjoying the Aveeno soak as a mask - for PENNIES!!! Blessings! They actually except gently used items as well. So if you have a product you used once or twice and don't like, they'll take it. They even take gently used makeup. Their website has all the info. 🙂

Dr. Dray! I absolutely despised the Vanicream lip protect - the white cast was really off putting as a guy, especially in a professional work place environment. HOWEVER. I would highly, highly recommend you try the Ultrasun SPF 30 lip balm. It's a yellow-clear gel that goes onto the lips without a white cast. It's surprisingly nourishing (more so than a lot of standard lip balms). Not waxy at all. And it contains newer UV filters with a PA rating of +++. Side note: I bought the Altruist sunscreen based on your review and am enjoying it so far! I love the brand ethos and how affordable it is while utilizing newer UV filters.

@Austin Byers... Is the Ultrasun lip SPF flavoured? I have the Banana Boat one, but it has an artificial fruity flavour I don't like. I'll use it up as I hate waste, but I won't buy it again. Yay, I'm a fan of Altruist too! :)

I have recommend that product in other videos. It is not sold in the states, and would not be easily obtained fo 90% of my subscriber demographic. It is a chemical spf, so would cause irritation for another large chunk of people. it is great otherwise, but vanicream is a better option for more people in terms of availability and suitability for sensitivity

Nell JM I can’t detect any fragrance or flavoring at all. Occasionally I feel like I can taste the hint of some kind of wax (very vague, if at all). I’ve tried the banana boat lip balms you’re referring to (the green one?) and found the fragrance obnoxious. They also irritated my throat and made my inner lower lip peel on the inside, weirdly enough. I threw it out.

At 13:48 I do agree that Neutrogena Helioplex Sunscreen stings. It usually does around my mouth and nose area. Before I used to think that it could be due to a sensitivity that I might have with chemical sunscreen ingredients but using other similar products proved that I don't. But I still use it and top it up with another sunscreen anyways.

Hi Dr. Dray! Thank you for the information about Project Beauty Share, good to know. I buy the Neutrogena Dry-Touch because of it's white cast! Both of my tinted favorites, Australian Gold Botanical and Ulta Tinted Mineral Facial Sunscreen, oxidize on me. I add the Neutrogena to the other sunscreens at a mixture of about 1 part Neutrogena to 3 parts tinted sunscreen to combat the orange oxidation. This works pretty well.

Solution I found to white cast sunscreens: I mix a La Roche Posay tinted sunscreen (too dark for me) with an Avene mineral sunscreen (terrible white cast). Together they create the perfect tinted shade for me and I am not wasting expensive products.

Yes the neutrogena chemical sunscreen with helioplex does burn my eyes
