These men or women, but especially men, who keep ogling porn suddenly discover they will not have the ability to cheat or satisfy their wives. Porn is a literal brain "turn off" for sexual function. Choose porn or healthy sexual function, but you can't have it both ways. Porn isolates and destroys relationships. It's a horribly shameful addiction, which is difficult to overcome. The end of the road is descending into child porn to get more of a dopamine release. At that point, one is a criminal.

As a pregnancy center nurse, there are many clients who come and get their pregnancies confirmed and then they say that she and her partner plan to get married, ''when they are ready'', and ''when they have enough money.'' I don't whitewash it for them, but I say the same thing. I would have never gotten married nor tried to have children if I waited until I was, ''ready''. He watches it because he love it, he watches it become it’s the only way he can get an erection. I actually had no clue of his porn use, even when he wasn’t able to keep his erection. He would get upset and I comforted him letting him know it’s ok. Then it clicked. Porn most definitely destroys marriages and relationships. I’m still by his side and working to keep my marriage but as a hot blooded woman who’s still young and yet to bear children (which I want) I too crave intimacy, but I can only be intimate with a man I love, but I don’t know how much longer I can stay, it’s now approaching year 4 since we have been intimate in 10yrs of marriage. So yes, choosing better is smarter but it isn’t always that simple.

St. Augustine believed in something akin to recapitulation theory, which posited that a developing embryo began as a fish and developed into mammal and then a human. This is why he was ambivalent on abortion in the early stages, because he mistakenly believed that early in its development the fetus was literally not human. Men tend to interpret women's unwilligness as witholding. Such perception doesn't serve you, as it creates more distance, polarity and tension AND doesn't solve the problem. Women's brains are literally, bilogically different. We are wired for nurturing babies and our emotional wellbeing cannot be separate from our bodies and sexuality. Women that can separate sex from emotions, are not connected to their emotional side are not emotionally equipped to be good mothers. Those who are potentiallygood mothers as they are emotionally in heathy contact with their emotional needs, the way they feel with their husband on moment to moment, day to day and general basis, greatly affects their sexuality. If women does not feel emotionally safe. cherished valued, she cannot open herself sexually. Many wives sadly even ignore that and hurt themselves in the process, and their husbands can sense it that they do not enjoy. So if a wife avoids sex, that should be alarm for her husband that something is not right in their relationship emotionally wise, and not take it as manipulation. It truly is not (unless said woman is generally manipulative person on other levels as well).

I like Matt but I really disagree with him on his stance on marriage. I think a couple ahould be fully ready and prepared before getting married and I think they should only have as many children as they can afford. That's how you end up with wellfare queens and broken families. I'm saying this as a 30 year old married man with 2 kids. Marriage is difficult and having children is even more difficult. I do agree that people should get married young though, because it allows for the couple to learn, grow, and adapt with each other because they're not set in their ways yet.

Sexual deviancy is rampant among men nowadays and the lack of control modern men display over their own sexuality is heartbreaking, especially as a 28 year old looking for marriage. I genuinely feel like I cannot trust any of these men to not pressure me to have sex during the dating phase, as well as stay faithful to me throughout our entire marriage and not watch pornography on me or cheat. It’s disheartening. I wish people had advice for people like me.

We have a marriage crisis because most people see marriage as something that have rather than something they are, and for a person who does not think this way, there is no societal or legal support for causing that person's particular marriage to be treated correctly.
