I think they were only surprised because it took so long to get a fairy and only the Great Deku Tree knew he was Hylian. @@Jack_MxM mido had to of known. "I'll never accept you as one of us" sounds like a pretty strong indication he knew darn well link wasn't a true kokiri. But the great deku tree had spoken; he kept quiet about link's real origins - while still able to bash him about being fairyless aka not one of them. I wouldn't be surprised if the great deku tree sprout's reveal actually hurt link quite a lot. Yeah it made Mido's attitude make more sense, being fairyless and growing up when the the others didn't and hows they treated him after he turned adult - including skull kid; it all made more sense. @@hyrulianhero116 Still no excuse, newer generations want instant gratification. That is a proven fact. All media is fast paced, short attention span content to get through a lot really fast. Sure, he's trying to move on with the main story, because watching him explore everything on a stream may be a little too much that it ends up not being entertaining. But also the critical thinking part of puzzle solving, his girlfriend definitely has more o that and she saw the things he was supposed to be doing because she took the time to take a look at what was going on, analyze and do while he was frantically running around without stopping to think for a moment. I'm not saying he's dumb by any means, it's just a consequence of the short attention span newer generations have developed. To defeat a boss in older Zeldas you needed to stop, figure out the fighting style, the patterns, and use the space between those patterns to deal damage to the weak point, rinse and repeat. Also when there's a stage 2 within the boss battle, figure out that new pattern quickly and use that to your advantage.

Fun fact: During development the Medallions were planned to be equippable items that cast magic spells, sort of like Din's Fire and Farore's Wind. For years we didn't know much about them but a month ago somebody found an old cartridge with leftover Ocarina of Time beta data and there was info on what the medallions were originally planned to do. The Wind Medallion, later changed to Forest, was a warp spell, probably turned into Farore's Wind. The Fire Medallion was a fire attack spell and probably became Din's Fire The Ice Medallion, later changed to Water, was an ice spell that apparently could put fires out. The Spirit Medallion turns Link into Navi presumably to fly around and reach higher places. Was probably based on a similar spell in Zelda 2. The Shadow Medallion turned Link invisible to enemies and might have been adapted into Nayru's Love. The Light Medallion was probably some kind of light element attack that was turned into something you'll get at the end of the game.

Maybe its a different link. He says link's _spirit_ was sealed away, not his body. I mean what is child link doing as you play as an adult? In stasis? When you return you are still holding the master sword when you come to but you no longer have it raised over your head. Also the fact you no longer wear the goron bracelet when zelda returns you implies this isn't the same body you started with because its a different timeline. 3 different links, 3 timelines, same spirit.

I watched the stream, and I know it can be frustrating to watch someone play blind and not understand how to solve the boss. The chat was saying to use Navi as she practically tells you how to fight bosses. Dee Bee responded by saying he wanted to figure it out himself. Again, since we know what to do, it can be frustrating, but just remember your first time playing Zelda games. It wasn't a pretty sight, was it? I know I looked like a bloody idiot until I played more Zelda games and got used to their puzzles and bosses. I'm sure he'll develop a Zelda instinct the more he plays these games.

The 7 year timeskip really change up the framing of the world of Hyrule. Great part of the game, the devs really made some great choices with Ocarina of Time. Another Fun Fact: The Reason why Link gets Cold in the Windmill is both intentional, yet also unintentional. Inside Dampes Grave, it makes sense to give him that "status" as a means to symbolize "feeling a ghostly chill". At the same time, due to how it and the Windmill are connected, theyre essentially the same Room programming-wise. "Statuses" like feeling Cold or feeling Hot are set throughout the entire Room That is also why both the Grave and the Windmill are called "???" when you enter them

Great gameplay, edits and embellishments, DeeBeeGeek! "I hope I got enough keys" says so much! I was also glad when DeeBeeGirl came to help. My hubby came to my aid, too, when the funhouse music and frustration had me furiously on edge. Just having someone there who cares and can offer their perspective helps, and I honestly think Nintendo has that sort of thing in mind when they make games (I think Navi was meant to fill this role, too, but nothing beats a friend who cares). When you feel the urge to speed up, that's when you need to slow down.

The nostalgia, watching your reactions, and you tackling puzzles all make it feel like we're playing with you, not just watching you, and we're all having fun with the game again*, but with a new take on it! The cool thing about Zelda is that puzzles and battles can have multiple solutions. Watching you do things differently, cheesing enemies with the hookshot, and struggling with the same or different obstacles than we did is fun (just know that when you get dragged to the start by a hand or something the rest of us are all cracking up). And your impersonations and connections to characters, even farm animals are pretty funny. Shoutout to DeeBeeGirl as well! Keep doing what you do! I watched the live stream and here is my feedback: - I thought you did ok! There were times where you didn’t know what to do or where to go next but that’s completely normal in a classic Zelda dungeon. We’ve all been there! - Remember to look out for things that might not seem relevant at the time but will be when you get the dungeon item. Those eye switches on the walls that needed shooting with the arrows for example. - The item you find in the dungeon will be the most useful item as far as completing that dungeons is concerned. There were times you were using the hookshot when the bow was 100% the better option. - WARNING: The Water temple can be very hard/tricky especially if you’re not an experienced Zelda player. It’s the third dungeon right after the fire temple which is next. I think it might be a little easier on the 3DS version than it was on the N64 but just keep in mind that it might be a frustrating one. Good luck!
@TheMagicianBee3 жыл бұрын
Also: - Navi will give hints on how to take down bosses. When you’re locked on press the Navi button to get a hint. - Remember that you’ve got a backflip when locked on. Use it to move out of the way of attacks such as those by the skeleton warriors (stalfos). - Use the dungeon map when you’ve got the compass to work out where the missing keys are.

That Song you learnt in the windmill; that's a causality loop paradox. When you go 7 years into the future, he says you played the Song of Storms 7 years ago which messed up the windmill. He teaches you the Song of Storms as he explains what you did 7 years ago, but after you learn it you go back 7 years to mess up the windmill, so he can teach it to you 7 years into the future. How did the loop start? That's the paradox.

One difference between OoT and BotW is that OoT focuses more heavily on dungeon gameplay than overworld exploration. The dungeons, especially in the lategame, are quite a bit more complex than the ones you've seen in BotW. The same is also true for many of the other classic Zelda games. BotW really revolutionized the series by putting such heavy emphasis on the overworld.

And interestingly, the very first Zelda Games were more akin to breath of the wild. I really hope botw two becomes a perfect blend of open world exploration and cool dungeons. That would be epic

Jabu Jabu's belly due to having difficulty figuring out what to do to get the boomerang, though I immediately facepalmed when I realized how easy that was. Then, there's obviously the gold skultulla locations(Learned the usefulness of that scarecrow in Lake Hylia when looking that up). And lastly... some hidden spots in the Water Temple. Other than that, I found the rest really self-explanatory and easy to figure out.
