I have watched a number of these fried crab videos and I never see the cook eating them--do you basically have to peel the shell and meat compartments just as if they were boiled? If so, I don't really see the point in the added work of frying, except in the case of fried claws which are peeled pre-frying and all you have to do is bite off the meat.

Hello, it all depends on the type of crab you purchase to fry. If you, purchase soft shell you can eat the entire fried crab in this case I used gumbo crabs so I was able to eat the entire top of the cluster but picked the meat out of the legs. Thank you for pointing that out..I should I have eaten on camera and highlighted the difference in crabs

If you decide to use soft shell you can eat the entire crab. But these were not soft shell. So only the meat is edible.
