Hope all is well with you, Tom. The last year has been quite an adventure, is how I suppose I could put it. The stalk of stinging nettle can be peeled to remove the sting and has a taste and texture similar to that of celery. I look forward to our cooler weather as it has been to hot to be in our woods. Glad to see you have grown so much since I last had time to watch many of your videos.

The weather certainly favored you two in this adventure, sunny and quiet with only the songs of the birds welcoming you and the crackling of the fire keeping you company. The Viking soup and bread looked delicious and filling, Cornelius liked the bread flour mix I think. Nothing like a hot Cimbrer coffee😉or two to wash down a good meal. Parsnip in English-they have a lot of natural sugars, so you can gently fry them and they get sweet and brown.

Boil them first till you can pierce easily with a fork then slice length wise and fry in butter

Thank you Tom! The video I needed. I've been coastal camping out among the sand dunes. It has a wild beauty but I miss the forest and have sand stuck in my beard. In the UK it's been so dry I'm avoiding all forest camping and campfires until we get into our usual damp Autumn conditions.

Wish you had kept the fire bowl yourself. I could have made by now. Season almost over. You should have kept right original. I would paid ten dollar $10.00 for plans plus shipping. This taking to long and their adding to it when it suppose be mim space consuming bowl. Might try make my own if not bother you. Your brother scout so if say no I won't. I was going modify your any way use in a canoe if had to.

I so enjoy seeing you and Cornelius interacting on your sojourns! The nettle soup looks delicious, and I sympathize with the cracking. After one experience I am probably too careful about not heating too quickly, but those pots are too expensive to just toss out!

I know people eat burning weed but always to scared to try it and just throw in cabbage. I have a blister on my hand from it now finally healing. I was cutting a patch down and a piece fell in my glove I didn't see or feel it until it had reacted really bad. You know. So busy you just don't notice things
