My 2nd time doing this- the first time I abruptly popped out of meditation with an icky feeling unsure why. This time around I realized it was because I was not ready to go through the iron gate. I tried the meditation, but I did not get anything from the final gate. However, my dreamscape kept shifting landscapes (grassy plains, to stony mountains, dead tundra, forest, barren and back), so my mind might be in too much of a state of turmoil to properly meditate at the moment. Will have to return to this later.
