I stumbled upon this accidentally today and it brightened me up greatly being a life long Deep Purple fan. My mother passed yesterday, this video and song gave me a bit of a mood boost, even for but the length of the track. Fantastic new album and cut off of it.

Superb video. A 50 years long voyage, not yet finished ! So funny to look for the albums references. There are also more hidden references, like, the glass of « Come Taste the Band » that falls down, to symbolize the split of the band in 1976 (3:31) But I don't really understand who is the girl at 4:00. The band try to follow her, but she desapears. His she the departure of Ritchie ? The death of Jon ? I don't know. At 4:26, the band arrives at the « House of the blue Light ». Paice and Glover enters the room behind the door. The 3 others stay outside. Ian and Roger enter to meet the Fortune teller from « Slave and Master » (4:37). And the light blind them (4:42). They look as if they wanted to hide from this crystal ball, as if they fell ashamed of this album. So funny ! Maybe you will find other references. This band. This band and his various solo incarnations has been with me all my life since I met him at the age of 12 in 1976. Almost a lifetime! And it is not yet finished ! Thank you guys. All of you !.

I understand it is the angel that song mentions ! read the lyrics. No connection at all to Anya or the woman from Tokyo as some have said...

I,be been a fan since1971.First song ever heard was of course Child In Tlme.Though first album I bought was Machine Head.Hardest album to get was Purple Passages. Recommend it.Still the top band.

Strange, Purple Passages is the one DP album I don't have. !970 for me, I heard Black Night on the radio.
@martinlasch14787 жыл бұрын
Purple Passages was a little bit like the album Mk1andMk2.Rod Evans on one album and Ian Gillan on the other. Good stuff on it.
